Slovenia, Triglav lakes. It takes quite a bit of hiking to get to these lakes (there are 7 in total) and they are all breath taking. This is the third or the second one and is in my opinion the most beautiful and its also called the liver lake because of its shape. Will definitely come back

My idiot TBM BIL called this weekend trying to get me to come back to church, saying that my issues with church history are insignificant and nothing new. This one cool trick got him to shut up with his arguments and go into "but I know the church it twooo" mode.
BIL is seriously a fucking idiot. We've never really spoken about why I left before, but he calls up all guns blazing assuming he knows that I have a problem with church history and that's why I've left (which is true, but there is so much more to it).
Anyway, TBM BIL says that "none of the problems are new" and that "all the issues have been disproven anyway."
I asked him "When did the church address these issues for you? When did you find out Joseph Smith was a polygamist who married teen brides without Emma's knowledge? Was it in seminary? On your mission? As a YSA or a young married? When was this information taught to you and when did you come to peace with it?"
Well it was the backtrack to end all backtracks. He said he didn't want to get into specifics and that I needed to be careful about critical opinions of the church. He then bore his testimony before saying he was out of time and had to go.
The gall of the guy. His life is so off the rails, but he thinks he can call me and preach at me. He is bringing his kids up in near poverty so he can afford a full tithe and maintain the facade. He's the one that needs to lie to his family about the true history of the church to keep them faithful. Yet I'm the badguy???

Just got back from a 3 week tour of Michigan - up Lake Huron, across the bridge to Tahquamenon and Pictured Rocks, and back down Lake Michigan. Great people and times the whole way! This was probably my favorite, Wild Cherry Resort near Traverse City.
