Update (3:30 PM EDT): I'd like to apologize to anyone using new reddit for the incorrectly formatted trade table. Apparently, if we don't put any text in the left column, new reddit formats all the info to the left, so unless you were using old reddit, up to this point i looked like the Predators had only acquired Santini. I've added a temporary fix while the mods sort the issue out with the admins.

May we receive an attempt at points tonight.
Here's some MacBlack stats that currently stand as I write this to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Currently 13th in wins in the league and everyone in front of him has started more games and all but one have played in more. Also as you may have guessed they're all on better teams.
8th in saves in the league. Once again- everyone in front of him has started more games and all but one have played in more.
Tied for 4th in shutouts with 3. Two of them were back to back and one of them was against a fiery Philadelphia Flyers team that put 50+ shots against him.
2nd in SV% among goalies who have played as many games as him. (43 GP).
2nd least GAA among goalies who have played as many games as him. (43 GP).
6 straight wins. 7-0-1 in his last 8 starts and has a 95.1% SV% in that stint.
All of this on a team who've had a disaster of the season and currently sit at 26th in the league and last in the metropolitan division with a bad defense. Their head coach was fired, GM was fired, and star player was traded away. And the team has a [100*] point pace in games he plays by the way.
If it wasn't obvious before Blackwood is the future of the New Jersey Devils it is now. As Devils fans, we're used to our team and certain players being overlooked and not respected- but this is crazy. At least when Cory was great he got attention for it. I cannot believe practically everyone not a Devils fan isn't talking about this kid and doesn't have a clue who he even is. Not only should Blackwood be top 5 for Calder nominees- In my opinion he should be considered a top 15 goaltender in the NHL.
Bow to Mackenzie Blackwood.
Cryptids are fascinating. The cryptid near and dear to my home is The New Jersey Devil. More about this giant, Pine Barrens dwelling, goat, bat man can be found here.

A suggestion to keep these threads fresh and not full of the same recycled jokes is to roast strictly on events/stories from July 1st, 2018 to today.
Be creative.
####Things you should avoid include but are not limited to:
San Jose choking (Tampa choking, however, is still very much in play)
Vancouver rioting
Vegas being historic
Florida/Arizona/Carolina relocating
Minnesota being Wild-ly average
Nashville raising a banner for everything
Iβm sure there are plenty more, but you get the picture.

... keep reading on reddit β‘My 2 friends and I spent a week in New Jersey several years ago. We'll call them Alice and Jane for the stories purpose. I don't remember exactly what part of Jersey we were in. But the house we were staying in was a guest house in the backyard of the main house which was owned by Alice's grandparents, and behind the guest house was a fence. The fence was a wooden fence about 7ft high, and had spaces in between each slat of wood about 1in apart. Behind the fence was just wooded area, but there was a grassy space right against the fence on the other side.
It was around 11pm at night, and we were all outside behind the guest house. Between the guesthouse and the fence. We were all smoking cigarettes, just talking, when we start to hear the crunching of something walking on the other side of the fence. At first, we assume its just an animal which is nothing unusual. Till Alice says "It sounds like its walking on 2 legs". We all stop to listen and all agree that it does. Nobody should be back there, especially this late at night - no human at least.
We listen for a couple seconds when I begin to make out a figure between the spaces in the fence. Im looking down toward the ground when my eyes adjust and I notice what looks like a deer standing on its hind legs. And as if I were in a movie, my eyes begin to scan upwards of whatever I'm looking at and right when I reached the eyes, I see the shining glare of the back porch light reflecting off its eyes - and its at least a 2ft taller then all of us.
It's peaking through.
Before I could even open my mouth Jane lets out an "Oh Shit! Go! Go! Go!" and we all run as fast as we could to do front of the guesthouse and lock ourselves inside. Jane and I concurred what each other seen, both agreeing it looked like a deer on its hind legs. Alice said right as Jane began to yell, she had noticed that it was slightly taller then the fence. We were scared shitless for the rest of the night trying to rationalize what we seen. It wasn't till weeks later we started discussing the Jersey Devil.
I dont know what we saw, none of us did. We laugh about it now, but I still often wonder what it was.
Happy new year everyone! Maybe 2020 will be better? Maybe?
