A list of puns related to "The Amazing Spider Man (2012 film)"
The fight takes place in New York, the villains are trying to assassinate Thor and have prepped beforehand.
Yeah... At this point, I think most of us can agree that Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man duology was generally a letdown, and a massive waste of potential. But why? What was it about those films that condemned them to fizzle out after just two movies? And was their failure really that inevitable?
As I see it, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy was a landmark motion picture event that helped redefine the Summer blockbuster for the 21st century, and it played a key role in turning superhero movies into the massive cultural phenomenon that they are today. But at the end of the day, those three movies are ultimately just one filmmaker's interpretation of an iconic character, and it was probably only a matter of time before we eventually got another interpretation.
There were Spider-Man adaptations before 2002, and there will almost certainly be many more in the years to come, so I can't fault Marc Webb and Sony Pictures for taking another shot at adapting Peter Parker's adventures for the big screen. But if I were to pin their failure one just one cause, it would be lack of vision. The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel certainly aren't the worst action movies ever to grace the big screen, but they are generally bland and unimaginative, and they never really do anything distinctive or memorable with the character. Say what you will about the Sam Raimi trilogy and the MCU Spider-Man films, but they at least manage to put their own unique spin on the material, and they generally have pretty well-defined creative identities.
Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy is a colorful and campy series of romantic comedy-dramas about a college-aged young man trying to make it in the big city while tangling with villains who all embody the dark side of his personality. The MCU's Home movies are coming-of-age dramas about a hapless teenage science prodigy trying to figure out adulthood while carving out his own identity in a world where superheroes are a normal part of life. The Amazing movies, though?
If I'm being brutally honest, probably the most unique and distinctive things about those films are that...
That wouldn't be such a bad track record for your average run-of-the-mill action movieβbut for an adaptation of one of the most beloved

Itβs been nine years since I saw this one in theaters and let me tell you, watching it at home is just as magical.
> I love The Amazing Spider-Man. I wish I could marry this movie and live the rest of my life with it. This is probably the most charming, emotionally impactful, narratively cohesive (aside from Spider-Man 2), and visually thrilling out of all the Spidey flicksβwell, I do have ITSV to watch. But, goddamn it if this film didnβt snuggle itβs way into my heart.
> Okay, first off, Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. Yeah, his Peter is written to be way too cool and aspirational to be akin to comics Peterβ but, yeah I donβt care about that because Andrew successfully drives home the main trait in Peterβs awkwardness. Itβs pathetic but oh so endearing to watch him play it out on screen, and of course, a lively, athletic, and scrawny Spider-Man he embodies chefβs kiss. And who better than to be opposite Andrew than Emma Stone? Her Gwen Stacy is so much more well-rounded as a character than I remember; the assertiveness, sassiness, and humor coupled with Stoneβs ability to convey empathy and character depth makes great for prepping the audience for a certain moment. Lastly, the twoβs chemistry, let alone romantic chemistry, together is nothing to be mentioned but just know that 2010s me and current me are all smiles and giddy about these two.
> The rest of the main/supporting cast play well and make the Amazing world feel lived-in. I do not know much about The Lizard and why a reboot first film would focus on a rather background Spidey rogue but Rhys Ifansβs Dr. Connors does a fantastic job delivering a descent into mad scientist mania while also being sympathetic and earnest. Meanwhile, Martin Sheen, though he doesnβt get the life-changing lessons in lines to say, naturally portrays more of an uncle/parental figure than Cliff Robertson as Uncle Ben. Then, Sally Field, though she does not get a lot of scenes in this one or memorable lines (I still despise the βsecrets have a costβ line) satisfies as Aunt May and acts her ass of sometimes with Andrewβ another bout of natural chemistry. Also, I do not have a lot to say about Denis Learyβs George Stacy but Leary does bring an authoritative presence whenever heβs on screen.
> The story writing, though worrying because it is trying to set up sequels, is sound for this first flick and juggles

So in 2018, Sony launched their own shared universe, named Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. The universe is centered around the villains of Spider-Man, but Spider-Man himself misses. There were some theories that the SPUMC is set in the Raimiverse, but it doesn't make any sence (there are two versions of Eddie Brock, with Venom acting as an origin story.)
Tom Holland's Spider-Man is in an entire different universe, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so he is not the Spider-Man of the SPUMC. We are left with Andrew Garfield's take on Spider-Man: The Amazing Spider-Man duology. In these films we didn't have Eddie Brock, neither Venom and the Daily Bugle, along side J. Jonah Jameson were only referenced. So, we can assume that Venom (2018), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) and Morbius (2022) are taking place in the TASM universe, right? Well, are there any evidence to this theory? Maybe yes.
So, in Venom (2018) we don't even have a direct refernce to Spider-Man, but we do get 1 easter-egg that could help this theory. In the beginning of the film, the one surviving astronaut is John Jonah Jameson III or most commonly kown as John Jameson, the son of J. Jonah Jameson (Editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle). In the 2nd trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage we see Eddie writing for The Daily Bugle, West Cost Edition. This implies that the Daily Bugle as we know it exists in the SPUMC. In The Amazing Spider-Man the Daily Bugle does exists with J.J.J. as it's CEO, but it is a TV channel. Now, this doesn't mean that there can not be both a newspaper and a TV channel going by Daily Bugle, because it could be just an explantion into other media. Newspapers aren't as popular as they were in the past, so it's only logical for J.J.J. to expand into TV.
Another hint that Spider-Man does exist in the SPUMC is from the Morbius trailer, were we see a graffiti of Spider-Man painted on a wall saying ''murder''. Now this could really be were the theory doesn't work, but actually it does work. Remember in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Gwen Stacy died while Spider-Man was trying to save her. This could very well mean that the public learnt about her death and J.J.J. blamed Spider-Man, turning the public against him, thus why someone would paint something like that. But, we have the last scene were Rhino and Spider-Man fight and in the third TASM movie we would have the Sinister Six as the villains. That is a problem, but lets just say that Spider-Man retired

Fairly simple theory. Tom Hardy is totally from Andrew Garfield's universe, and if they make a Venom 3, he'll likely travel to NY in his universe after going back to see if "That guy" exists in his own world.
Here's why:
When the multiverse men, or the "sinister five" got pulled through to the MCU, they were all pulled through from the moment in time when they learned Peter was Spider-Man.
GG after the dinner scene in SM1, Ock when Tobey unmasks himself and he tries to strangle him in SM2, Sandman from an unclear time after SM3, Lizard from right after he finds Peter's camera in the sewer in ASM 1, and Electro from right when he achieves functional omnipotence for a split second before dying in ASM2, thus figuring out who Spider-Man is. Venom got pulled through during the LTBC post-credits scene right as Eddie was being connected to the hivemind, which has encountered Spider-Man various times across various timelines, thus making that his "moment" where he figures out who Spider-Man is, which is coincidentally also the first moment he even knows about Spider-Man at all.
Functionally, in NWH, Venom was the sixth member of the Sinister Six, but being "kind of a loser", as he is, he spent the whole movie just chilling out in a Mexican bar instead of trying to hunt down Spider-Man immediately like everyone else, partially because of his chilled out attitude, but also because he's all the way across the country instead of in NY from the start like everyone else.
And, of course, none of this means that he isn't from some totally separate universe, but:
Everyone else who came over was from the Raimiverse and the Webbverse respectively, in equal number. One Spider-Man from each, and three villains from ea-- oh wait. There's only two Webbverse villains, but three Raimi villains and a Spider-Man from each reality.
It would be strange for the spell to follow this pattern of picking a mostly equal number of people from only two specific universes, and then pulling one random guy from a completely unrelated universe where Spider-Man doesn't even exist. If that's the case, why not pull across any symbiote that has access to the hivemind? No, Tom Hardy's Venom HAS to be from the same universe as the Amazing Spider-Man movies. It just makes the most sense. And, if they wanted to bring Andrew back, which based on the fan reaction wouldn't be a bad idea, the Venom movies would be the best place to do it. Then Andrew can finally fight an alien and
... keep reading on reddit β‘My favorite Spider-Man is easily Andrew, although Andrew was unlucky and didn't get his 3rd movie as his 2nd movie was seriously a disaster and I agree that it's the worst Spider-Man movie. But I have observed in the subreddit that The Amazing Spider-Man 1 is also hated.
So here's my question that Why is TASM 1 hated a lot in the subreddit??? It's a great and a fresh movie, while for me Spider-Man 1 looks outdated to me.
Continuing on from the trend I set in the last Spider-Man article I wrote where i examined an alternate world; where Sam Raimi made three more Spider-Man films between 2012 and 18, this time we're going to focus on the more divisive Spider-Man franchise.
The Amazing Spider-Man was born out of Sam Raimi's decision to exit the Spider-Man series when Sony refused to allow him more time to develop the script. With Raimi's departure came the Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.
This film was received far more warmly than Spider-Man 3 despite not making as much money thanks to the Avengers and Dark Knight Rises. However it was still enough of a success that Sony greenlit at least 4 more direct sequels and 1 or 2 spinoff movies.
However TASM was cursed again at the box office thanks to Captain America: The Winter Soldier and X-Men Days of Future Past. On top of this, TASM 2 wasn't very good. Largely considered to be the weakest Spider-Man movie, it suffered from building up too many things for future films, and not focusing on being a good film in its own right. It was panned by critics and made a lot less money than Sony was expecting it to.
Sony approached Disney about Spider-Man being included in the MCU and a deal was struck. Though initially plans called for Andrew Garfield to continue as Spider-Man, the decision was made to reboot as Disney didn't want the baggage of TASM 2. Thus Tom Holland replaced Garfield and has been in 5 MCU films and will be getting his third film at the end of 2021.
But what if that didn't happen? What if TASM 2 made money and Sony never went to Disney? What if Marc Webb continued on with TASM 3?
The Amazing Spider-Man 3 (2016)
Hopefully by this time, Sony has learned their lesson and they release the movie at a point in the year not dominated by other superhero movies.
This movie would feature Andrew Garfield returning as Spider-Man and not completely over the death of Gwen Stacy. He attends grief counseling and meets Mary Jane Watson played by Shailene Woodley.
We would also be introduced to Eddie Brock though who he'd be played by is unknown. Maybe it would still be Tom Hardy.
Felicity Jones would also return as Felicia Hardy and would likely become Black Cat. Building off of her romance with Harry Osborn in the last film, I think she would team up with him against Spider-Man maybe. Or else would turn on Harry to team up with Peter.
The symbiote would debut in this movie and attach itse
