Sunday Dinner for a Soldier Puns

We've been dating for 3 years, and we live an hour away, because of that we can only really see each other 1-2 times a week because of work and so I can save money on gas. I want to do something spontaneous this week because we normally just chill on the couch and cuddle and watch YouTube. I'm also 19 and she's 18 in the US so no getting hammered sadly...

Throughout the year I began to lose my passion for cooking, as often happens when you're the cook of the household. But I love trying new ingredients and recipes, and I didn't want to lose something I was passionate about.

So I proposed to my bestie that we take it in turns to host Alphabet Dinners with our partners. The meal has to be significant to the letter; the main ingredient, country of origin, recipe name etc. Could even get creative and create a significant meal from a movie from that letter. We generally do 3 courses.

It's my turn and we're up to G, I have a couple of ideas but I'd be interested to hear your suggestions! Only thing to note is I live in Australia so some ingredients might be hard to come by.

My husband, friends and I (American) do a different international dinner every Saturday. We've done many cuisines, but no one has tackled British food yet.

As a lover of British stuff (mostly television), I have decided to do the British dinner. I know there aren't any Peep Show, Dark Place, Snuff Box, etc themed foods that I would want to subject my loved ones to, so I've decided to do the traditional Sunday dinner that I've seen so many times and drooled over.

I looked online and found some recipes for Yorkshire puds, gravy and stuff, but they all seem pretty generic.

If you have a recipe, tips and tricks, really anything to help me make this night the best one and put my friends to shame, I would really appreciate a share. I'm a pretty good cook and baker, so don't hold back. I'm planning on pulling a dessert recipe off of the Bake Off webpage, but if you have a dessert you adore please let me know.

My dad knows that my husband and I are mentally out, we still have to attend church because my husband goes to BYU.

My husband is all the way out and close to being an atheist. I still claim to be christian but with this mental change I still find myself doubting my doubts. Its damaging to me if I think about it too hard.

To be honest Im afraid. I dont know how people are converted these days because I grew up in the church. How do they not know mormon history and todays issues that the mormons still have?

Really it shouldnt be a big deal, but Im very emotional and cry all the time, even when I just see someone cry. If I cry I dont want my dad to think im coming back in anyway.

Really I just want to find a way to truley be at peace with just being a christian and I just haven't quite found that yet. Im jealous in a way, of peoples ignorance, but I would never willingly be ignorant. Do you get what Im saying?

Im sorry, Im just venting at this point. Looking for people that can relate I guess.
