Steppin’ Out is a tall, skeletal figure made of metal. It has fog lights as eyes, and a strange monitor in place of a mouth, which monitors sounds nearby. Despite its thin frame, it is fairly strong and is capable in a fight.
Abilities:
Steppin’ Out allows the user to hide inside walls or other flat surfaces. While inside, the user can move along the length of the surface, see the surrounding area and hear what others near the surface are saying. The user can willingly exit the surface, however they can also be forced out if any damage is dealt to the surface and they are within 5 feet of the impact. Steppin’ Out can push others into surfaces so long as physical contact is maintained throughout the process. Those trapped cannot escape until the user wills it.
History:
John was always a fairly nosy detective, going further than his colleagues in pursuit of information. This persistence nearly cost him his life when he was shot with a strange arrow when investigating a criminal group known for stealing antiques and selling them at ridiculous prices. He became severely ill for several days, though recovered and continued working. He discovered his ability while looking for a place to hide after an undercover mission went south, phasing into a nearby table. Since then, he’s been known as a man who can solve a crime by simply knowing where the suspects eat lunch, picking up on information that not even the worst interrogations can force out.
