In the upcoming patch, GA is slated to be nerfed from 400 to 250 revive HP, however I and many others I’ve spoken to in the high elo community strongly disagree with this decision on the basis that it pidgeonholes GA’s identity going forward to being an item used to abuse ability cast time/channel interactions.

GA has partially had this identity to some extent for a long time to be fair. Set 4’s Ahri BiS items were IE/GA/JG because GA allowed ahri to double cast while dead effectively, Set 4.5’s Swain could continue his ult while dead, this list goes on.

Currently however this problem has become rather exacerbated, GA allows Lissandra, Kaisa, Viktor and other units with long cast times to finish their ult, GA allows Yone clone to continue dealing damage, it allows Urgot ult to deal full damage uninterrupted and it allows TK to continue eating a target. These interactions probably do require some nerfing, some/many of these champs consider GA a BiS item, Yone, Urgot and Kaisa’s performance are all being held up by GA which has a high usage rate on these champs, and these champions are being nerfed in 12.1 as well, presumably, in part, because GA is granting a lot of power to these units.

So what’s the issue? Champions are designed around existing items, champions like Urgot and Yone were designed with RH in mind, Lux was designed with blue buff in mind, and we even know this for a fact because Mort recently mentioned that he was frustrated by the fact that many champs they intended to be blue buff users did NOT want to use blue buff, which lead to BB receiving additional starting mana to encourage more champs to use it.

GA currently has two identities, it can be used to abuse long cast times on polarising champs with high impact ultimates, OR it can be used as a stabilising tool, a defensive utility for squishy characters to prevent them from being taken out of a fight by accident. In set 3 GA was used on champs such as Shaco as a stabilising tool, in Set 4 we used to build GA on Jhin and Ashe to give them a chance to get back into a combat round after accidentally being removed by a Zed 3 or something along those lines.

IF these GA changes go through, it will lose the latter identity, 250 HP means the target will be taken out much more easily by stray AoE damage, units such as Yone and Shaco will utterly struggle to stabilise again after being revived as the smallest instance of damage will kill them.

I’ve been meaning to give back to this community from which I’ve benefitted a lot since its founding, and decided to do a write-up on the modern EV Battery and Grid Storage sectors. I also wanted to do one for Magnis Energy Technology’s projects (MNS) and where it strategically fits in this high growth but very complex sector, so I combined the two DDs into what you have here.

While I do hold MNS stocks, and I WILL address the current Murdoch media/Twitter/HC campaign against MNS, this post will first and foremost be to help understand the global EV Battery sector and related sub-industries/downstream markets.

Then using this as a framework, I’ll share my own DD on MNS, their projects/holdings, and whether it is a good or risky investment choice within the sector & in the current ASX/media climate. Anything I couldn't fit in 40k characters will go into a FAQ comment.

But tl;dr for those just wanting a quick answer, I am holding firm, with a SP target of ~$2.15 by June 2022 depending on MANY factors.

1 - Lithium Ion Batteries 101

Batteries are a way of storing electrical energy that can be collected at any point in time, then discharged for consumption at any other point in time, and due to its relative technological maturity and long lifespan, the overwhelming majority of passenger electric vehicles (PEVs) made in commercial quantities today use Lithium-ion Batteries as their energy solution.

1.1 How does a lithium-ion battery work?

A modern Lithium-ion Battery (or LiB), co-invented in the 1970s by Nobel Laureates Professor M. Stanley Whittingham, John Goodenough, and Akira Yoshino, is made up of 5 key aspects: the Cathode, Anode, Electrolyte, Separator and a Cell form factor. The way these batteries discharges or recharges electrical energy is by transferring electrically charged atoms (the ions) between the cathode material and the anode material through the electrolyte medium. The lithium part of LiBs sits in the anode.

1.2 What exactly is inside your LiBs (Battery Cell Chemistry)?

Quick disclaimer: A lot of these changes are mechanical in nature, i.e. numbers to make it balanced are subject to change, especially for the more ambitious reworks. The goal generally is to improve diversity and remove feels bad moments.

Below is a list of different balance changes, related non-meta cards and archetypes that I have accumulated over quite some time and I would be really interested what other people think about them:

• Starting with the epitome of beloved off-meta archetypes, Mono / Pure Shurima buffs
  • Merge Sun Disc draw condition and "you've leveled a champion" into a new keyword, allowing these card to be used more freely in Mono / Pure Shurima, e.g. Devout: You have leveled a champion or at game start all your cards were from the same region. Cards affected
    • Buried Sun Disc (effectively unchanged)
    • Destined Poro (no longer requires a lvl 2+ champ in Mono / Pure Shurima)
    • The Absolver (ditto)
    • Devoted Council (ditto)
    • Voice of the Risen (ditto)
    • Thrumming Swarm (ditto)
    • Key ideas: Destined Poro and Devoted Council could help with early game stabilisation, Voice of the Risen can force more trading with e.g. Sand Soldiers early on. The others are mainly for consistency
    • Maybe Shaped Stone could give +3/+1 instead +2/+1 if also Devout and a landmark was played? Might make the card very complicated though
  • Buried Sun Disk goes to 0 mana
    • Not exactly a new suggestion, it's just here because it is related and it makes sense to me. The tempo loss from playing Sun Disc on 1 feels so strange to me given behind how much work the pay-off is with Sun Disc doing nothing in the meantime
  • Buried Sun Disk Countdown gets reduced everywhere, i.e. it also affects other Sun Disks so the deck doesn't fold at the sight of landmark removal
    • Also not exactly a spicy idea. If that is too strong, adjust the starting Countdown number
    • Unlike e.g. Starspring, Sun Disc doesn't even win the game once it's condition is fulfilled. The Emperor's Deck and level 3 champions are hard to beat, but not impossible, whereas a Star Spring that goes off is impossible to beat
• Why are so many of the really interesting Shurima spells which are totally within the Shurima region pie so prohibitively expensive: Careful Preparations, Chronoshift, Servitude of Desolation to name a few
• I would really be interested in a less clunky version of Lux which carries over mana spent on spells and e

Do The large red diamonds VS small red diamonds ♦️ mean the more powerful the insurgents are?

If you can’t kill them, can you reduce their numbers somehow? I see all those red diamonds moving around some are big some are small but I’m not sure what that means.

I know there is a method to understanding the behavior of the insurgents and where they spawn and what makes them weak and falter but I’m not privy to that knowledge yet.

I seem to remember hearing that every time insurgents retreat they lose some of their ‘numbers’ which I’m assuming means ‘red ♦️’ is that true? What are other ways to Whittle them down and cripple them as much as possible?

Hello there! Today I had a session that was unfortunely entirely a combat(in waves), this occurred because I underestimated the amount of time the battles would take.

But proceeding, I am here to ask if any of you have tips on making the combat bureaucracy more smooth and quicker without losing any or very little depth. One technique I recently adopted is to begin the turn of the next player when the last one is finishing calculating damage or something like that, I return my attention when he/she finishes it(the basic math), and then return my attention again to the current player's turn. The only problem is when the next player wants to interact with the same creature/environment than the previous player, nonetheless it works well.

I am asking for general and specific tips, the general should apply more to the players and GM since systems vary. In these next paragraphs I will quickly explain how a typical turn of combat works, even using what happened today, to support any ideas for tips specific for this kind of system.

System is Deadlands: Hell on Earth by Pinnacle Entertainment, I am using basically all the expansions books(brainburners, last crusaders, etc.)

I) Pre-draw of cards: If the players are aware a threat is coming, I ask them what would they like to do, adding the info they are allowed to know, so for example: "The patrol hounds of the Combine(faction) are coming, they are currently 100 yards away, but should get into combat distance within 10 seconds, what do you do?". Generally they do stuff according to their skills and threat in hand, so the ones with guns get to higher ground, the stealthier get in the shadows, the tanks and diplomats get into the frontlines, you get the idea, this part is quite nice overall, can't see huge improvements

II) Draw of cards: So the turn works with the famous card deck of 54 cards used worldwide, each card represents a moment in time and they have their own hierarchy, in decreasing order of acting we have Joker, Ace, King, Queen... down until Deuce. And who picks the same card will dispute suit agaisn't suit, in decreasing order, again, Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs.

The players use one deck while the GM uses another separate one, if the cards match, they act at the same time, so a player with a Queen of Hearts will act at the same time as the Patrol Hound draws a Queen of Hearts.

Hello Runeterra! As a kind of "New year's resolution" I challenged myself to build decks including every champion in the game so far, and run it on the ranked ladder for 10 games. The rules were as follows:

1. I could only use each champion once. If it's in one deck, it can't go in another.
2. Limit for single-champion decks is 3. That way I keep the challenge doable and also make it more of a challenge to find interesting synergies.
3. Meta/obvious decks are allowed, but I have to save them for last. (Side note: these decks were decided on before the Iceborn Legacy buff patch. I will be keeping to this list regardless of meta shift.)

Deck 1: Karma Kindred Control. Deck code: ((CECQCAQCAUAQGBIQAECAKBICAEBCSOIFAECQCEY5FAYQGAIBAIYQCBACCQBAGAQFCQAQEAIFB4XA))

This deck is designed to do one thing: kill. The deck is stock full of removal spells, and wants to stall the game out until 10 mana to get Karma online. Having kindred on the board helps convert single target removal into a 2-for-1, and setting up 2 Go Hard is not hard to do in order for a level 2 Karma to double the third into a Pack Your Bags. Scattered Pod helps find our removal, is a late game elusive threat, and is a decent meat shield in a pinch. And we also have The Box for wiping away those pesky aggro decks.

The results After 10 games, I ended 7-3. Better than I was hoping, considering this pairing was one of the last ones I settled on. Turns out, being able to double all your spells if/when you get to 10 mana really sucks for the opponent.

The good Matchups:

Pantheon - with few creatures to deal with, getting Kindred out and hitting the weaker creature with a removal spell either forces the opponent to suffer losing both their threats, or to spend their protection on the less powerful creature. This slows them down long enough to drop a levelled Karma, which with a Vengeance can burn through the Spell shield high roll and still kill the pantheon.

Teemo decks - during the 10 games, I faced 2 Teemo variants: Teemo/Caitlyn Traps and Teemo Ziggs bandle swarm. With plenty of 1 damage spells to off a level 1 Teemo, it's no wonder these were fairly strong matchups.

The Close Ones:

Deep - with 2 late game decks going at it, it's not surprising it was close. Early game, I had easy board control, and was able to develop a level 2 Kindred. However, they managed to get Deep before I could close out the game, and it took every removal spell I had to keep my board state. Eventually I managed to fin

A brief history of money

Historians agree that humans invented money before they invented written language. Think about that. We were able to agree on how to exchange value before we were able to write down our thoughts. The origins of money are more fundamental to human nature than our desire to communicate, in a way.

Money served three purposes:

• A store of wealth across time. People could store today's effort for using it tomorrow.
• A medium of exchange, to procure things from others.
• A unit of account, to record credit-debit relationships.

Year in Review

A year, after all, is simply a collection of days. And therefore the story of this year is largely told in the record of past twelve months.

At the beginning of the year the portfolio goal was reset to provide a target goal for passive income equivalent to $90,500 per year.

At the same time, three essential pre-conditions were set for any movement from my current work arrangements.

These were:

• reaching the overall portfolio target of $2.85 million;

• achieving a minimum equity portfolio target of $1.93 million; and

• a cash reserve of at least one year of normal expenditure.

Rapidly, in fact by March, the first of these conditions were met.

The second remains a little distance away – perhaps 2 to 18 months away should equity markets remain positive, perhaps much longer if any significant equity drawdowns occur.

The cash reserve has been started, but it is not yet near completion. At present, it sits at around $17,000 compared to the average annual spending of about $84,000 since 2013.

Studying the course of the voyage

The pattern of this fifth year of the voyage has been distinctly different to any other. Looking back, there is a dual sense of consistency, and radical discontinuity.

The sense of consistency has come from the continued strong growth in equity markets and the continued regular investment into equity-based exchange traded funds. Strong equity returns have contributed to the equity component of the portfolio increasing by over $385,000.

However, I notice that we've yet to see any datasheets leaks for a BATTLESUIT unit.

And the latest Stormsurge preview changes the 'Stabilising Anchors' to give re-rolls to hit, not +1 to hit. Could that imply that it's no longer as necessary?

I've long been crying that our Battlesuit units should be BS3, given that they're elite pilots using enhanced AI targeting systems.

Absolutely no reason to believe that'll happen, however I'm riding high on all the recent glow-ups and hoping/praying/burning effigies that the fantasy will be realised.

Hey everyone, I am Augenis! It has been a while since the last time I did a PR - for the United Baltic Duchy and Riga last year, in fact. A year has passed since then, marked by several noteworthy updates - and I return once again, with the Balkans Rework, and specifically with a Progress Report on the Serbian Republic.

###A Balkans Rework?!

Indeed! The Balkans Rework began not long after the release of the United Baltic Duchy and was kept under complete secrecy from start to finish. I did, however, post teasers in the form of cryptic single icons and focuses, purposefully redacted to not reveal the origin of the content while also allowing me to have a little fun.

Why was this rework hidden when so many other reworks planned for countries in KR have been revealed and are often discussed on Reddit and Discord? Well, I have several reasons for it. I envisioned the Balkans as fulfilling a role similar to Sweden, coming during the wait for major releases, of which there are several in the works right now. I also wanted to limit the spread of misinformation and rumors coming from very limited information which teasers usually provide, which has been an issue for several KR reworks in the past. Finally, it is simply my personal preference to keep the cards to myself and then reveal everything at once. After all, the UBD PR was also posted very late in its coding phase, when it was already close to completion on the Eastern Europe branch.

I have toiled all by myself away from the public for the past year, and so, all of the content displayed in this PR is fully code complete, while the next PR is almost fully code complete, and both will be released to the public this summer.

###New Serbia situation

The short summary is as thus:

• By 1918, the annexationist tendencies in Austria-Hungary had largely passed and their main figures such as Franz Conrad von Hötzendorf and István Tisza had been sidelined. Instead, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes charge in the planning of peace treaties, aiming for a nominally independent Serbia after the war. This position is endorsed by Germany, who had proposed a unified Serbian-Montenegrin client state of Austria since 1915.

Wanted to try and get this out before Chapter 25, but ultimately just barely missed. Ah well. Thought it was time we touched on the situation outside of the US briefly, so there's some of that in here. This is very likely the only sequel I'll do to FEI, but thats not totall certain, I might have a few more ideas.

Medibun slowly advanced down the road, passing rubble pile after rubble pile. Dead Humans littered the ground, but dead Hekatians too, almost in equal number. The Humans were doing everything in their power to slow the advance of the Imperium’s forces, and it very much seemed to be working.

Medibun heard a shuffling sound. He spun his rifle over towards its source, seeing two Human bodies, very close together. There was no more noise, both bodies completely still, but just to be sure, Medibun fired a lance into the nearest body’s head. Both remained still, and so he could turn back to his advance.

Spent bullet casings covered every inch, the Humans having fought ferociously to keep this insignificant corner of one of their cities. Why? No one was quite sure, but it was more than clear they were committed to it with their lives.

One other soldier, Jilfruzotyum, placed their foot down, only for a small explosive to pop out of the ground and detonate. Jilfruzotyum was thrown to the ground by the mine, screaming as shrapnel cut into his body. Medibun dived for the ground,not wanting to risk any more explosions that might follow. It was at this moment he heard a Human shouting.

“For Sheffield!”

Humans appeared, seemingly from nowhere, swarming the Hekatian platoon. One jumped up from the pair of bodies Medibun had seen earlier, clutching an axe and charging at the platoon commander. In a split second, the Human had buried their axe into the platoon commander’s head, while others assaulted the remainder of the platoon with daggers, clubs, and all manner of utterly outdated melee weapons.

Medibun turned his weapon, firing and successfully felling one of the attackers. But all this did in the grand scheme of things was attract the attention of the others, who charged, bellowing as they did so. The very last thing Medibun ever saw was an axe, descending towards his skull at ultrafast speed, while the Human wielding it snarled.

A brief history of money

Historians agree that humans invented money before they invented written language. Think about that. We were able to agree on how to exchange value before we were able to write down our thoughts. The origins of money are more fundamental to human nature than our desire to communicate, in a way.

Money served three purposes:

• A store of wealth across time. People could store today's effort for using it tomorrow.
• A medium of exchange, to procure things from others.
• A unit of account, to record credit-debit relationships.

Starting with the barter system, humans moved on to using common goods with intrinsic value (such as cows and bags of wheat) and then to units like cowrie shells, glass beads which were more convenient for accounting because of their divisibility. There was a problem with this system, though. You guessed it.

People who had access to the means of production of cowrie shells or glass beads could flood the market, and the more money there was in the market, the less value it had. This is what happened in Africa when glass beads merchants from Europe imported loads of glass beads and made them worthless as a form of money.
