A list of puns related to "Spreckels Mansion"
I'm referring to the death of Rebecca Zahau, former girlfriend of Jonah Shacknai, which occurred at the Spreckels Mansion on Ocean Blvd. in Coronado.
I know there's new updates in the case every few years, and the victim's family will probably spend every day for the rest of their lives trying to find closure..and sure, medical technology advances. But with how stale/distant this case becomes with each day passing, will we ever know the truth?
Many speculate that the huge amount of wealth would make it easy for Jonah to make friends in the justice system..personally, I believe that IF Jonah (or the popular supects, his brother Adam and ex wife Dina) were involved in any way, then so was somebody in Law Enforcement to keep the heat away from them.
So maybe it's completely buried now.. but is there a chance, and if so, what would be required for this to be proven as a murder and the responsible individual(s) held accountable? This thing still smells foul to me, even all these years later..
TOPIC SYNOPSIS
βRebecca Zahauβ was found hanging β her hands and feet bound by red rope, mouth gagged, and completely nude β over a balcony at Spreckels Mansion in Coronado California on July 13, 2011. - Her case is nuanced, complex, and full of unanswered questions.
-
Two days before her bizarre death, Max Shacknai (Rebeccaβs boyfriendβs son) suffered a serious accident under Zahauβs care, and later passed away on July 16, 2011. Max was not biologically related to Rebecca, but was the 6-year old child of Jonah Shacknai (Rebeccaβs boyfriend) and Dina Romano (Jonahβs ex-wife).
-
Clearly, motive for murder could be argued given the circumstances, but also suicide, given the level of guilt Rebecca MAY have been under (if she played role in Maxβs accident). - Jonah Shacknaiβs brother, Adam, was staying in the Spreckels Mansionβs guesthouse during the period Rebecca died, and as a result was a prime suspect in the case. He proclaims innocence to this day.
-
Furthermore, a crazy cryptic message reading βshe saved him, can you save herβ, was painted in black on the door of the room Rebecca was hanging out of. Jonah Shacknai (her boyfriend) was also rich af.
-
Herein, we lay out the events that transpired, outline the evidence associated with Rebecca Zahauβs case, provide evidence for and against various theories, and then close with our own personal takes on the case. Was it murder? Was it suicide? Was it ritual magic?

Jurors were asked to answer two questions in this civil trial: Did Adam Shacknai touch Rebecca Zahau before her death with the intent to harm her? The jury's vote was yes 9 to 3.
For the wrongful death verdict, did Adam Shacknai touch Rebecca Zahau prior to her death with intent to harm her? The jury's vote was also yes 9 to 3.
They determined Shacknai owed Zahau's mother, Pari Zahau approximately $5,167,000 in damages.

Short summary for those unfamiliar with the case, everyone else: Skip the next paragraph
Rebecca Mawii Zahau (March 15, 1979 β July 13, 2011) was discovered dead at the Spreckels Mansion in Coronado, California, where she lived with her millionaire boyfriend, Medicis Pharmaceutical CEO Jonah Shacknai. Zahau's death occurred two days after Shacknai's 6-year-old son Max took a fatal fall from a staircase banister in the same beachfront mansion. Zahau was the only adult present at the time of the child's fall.[1]San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore announced on September 2, 2011, that Zahau's death was a suicide while the younger Shacknai's was an accident, and that neither was the result of foul play.[2] Members of Zahau's family disputed the finding that her death was suicide and filed a $10 million wrongful death lawsuit against Jonah Shacknai's brother Adam.[3] The jury in that civil trial found Adam Shacknai responsible for Zahau's death and granted her family a $5 million judgment for loss of love and companionship as well as an additional $167,000 for the loss of financial support Zahau would have provided her mother and siblings.[4][5]
So, back when the case did not have that high of a profile, I saw that the police had a long and detailed page called "FAQ", where they at length explained the different aspects of the case and why it WAS a suicide.
I am not from the US, so I asked here, if this was common. Well, it is not what the police does. And mind you, it was at a time, where media interest was not yet there. That is the important thing. I mean I would understand it as a reaction to the massive interest now. But back then no one knew the case (you know what I mean). I am not the one to say "corruption" and really I do not even think that, I guess. But strange nonetheless...

Intro
The Family of the AF (Rebecca Zahau) moved from Myanmar to Germany as political refugees.
AF met her first American WM in Germany during religious event.
In 2002 AF married WM in USA for Green Card. AF moved the whole family to USA.
WM turned not to be so great. AF made more money than her husband. Not worked out. Divorced in 2011.
Part 1
AF met a new rich much-older WM boyfriend (Jonah Shacknai) who had a few failed marriages and kids. AF moved in the house called The Spreckels Mansion with WM and sometime the kids visited.
One day while AF was at home with one of the kids; the 6 year-old boy mysteriously fell down the stair-- he was sent to the hospital.
The next day; the WM husband's brother "WM-bro" (Adam Shacknai) came visit the house while most of the family was in the hospital.
WM-bro was at home with AF. That night neighbors heard someone scream.
Part 2
The next day; AF died mysteriously, nude, hanging from a balcony, with her wrists and ankles bound.
Also there was a crypted note written on the wall "she saved him can he save her"
Later the police found that WM-bro could have been watching a lot of anime porn & bondage porn near the time AF died.
> [...] later confirmed that more than a dozen searches of sexual content β using terms like "raped, sexy Asian girls, and bondage anime" β were accessed on a computer the day before Zahau's death.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
