A list of puns related to "Shelbie Bruce"
Excitingly - and somewhat eerily - it seems that nobody has ever made a similar list before. We are stepping into the unknown here! Granted, the reason that no such list had existed before might have something to do with the fact that making an acceleration list for manual cars is a bit pointless; after all, these days manuals are sought for their involvement and not for their speed of shift. The last 15 years all the fastest cars have been using automated gearboxes and if you wanted the fastest acceleration you would just buy one of those. But that's also what got me curious. If we removed all the robotized gearbox cars that have been dominating accelerations in magazines and on youtube for as long as you can probably remember, what would be left? The results certainly don't disappoint and you'll find a lot of wonderful cars there that you might have completely forgotten about.
Before we get to the list, though, it's worth saying that you need to take the results with a big pinch of salt. Acceleration numbers are tricky to assess at the best of times and with manuals it's even worse. On many occasions the times can be more down to how skilled the driver was and how brutal he dared to be with the clutch, rather than what the car can ultimately achieve.
This list is for production cars only, so at least 25 examples have to have been made for the car to be considered eligible. There are also some cars that could have made the list (Murcialgo LP640, Gallardo LP560, Ferrari 599 GTB, Ferrari F430) but for which no acceleration numbers could be found. This is because all of these also had an automated manual option and that was always the car that was sent to all the tests.
Because numbers for 100-200km/h sprint are not something many people are used to seeing (sadly), I am gonna give you a couple of times for modern cars to put the whole list into context:
Ok, without further ado, let's get to the list - starting at #30 and working our way to the top:
30. Bugatti EB110 SS - 8.5s
With claimed 612PS and 1418kg of weight you would be forgiven for thinking the acceleration should be even better, but - as is often the case with these small production, hand built supercars - the claimed numbers might be a bit optimistic. Still, what a great entry to start with!
29. Porsche 911 Turbo (997.2) - 8.3s
The first Porsche on the lis
... keep reading on reddit β‘Naming a child is hard. Seriously difficult. I had no problem naming my son, even though I got MUCH pushback on the name (Bruce James - first and middle). BJ seems to ring poorly with some, but I like it. People consistently confuse my husband and son (dental office), so I've figured it out. I know. He has an old mans name.
Now I'm pregnant again with a girl this time! I think we've decided on Shelby. Yes, I know. Shelby is not a baby's name. No one knows any babies named Shelby, right? Trust me, I heard everything the first time around!
But as I'm listening, I hear every Shelby in my area (Midwest USA) is someone's dog. But my husband has already decided on the name. He loves it. Is a double barrel name just going to make her life inconvenient? I'm thinking Shelby-Rae. It would set her apart from all them golden retrievers... I'm overthinking it, right? I'm also afraid I'll get lazy and eventually shorten it myself.
ETA: I don't appreciate the input on my son's already given name. I don't call him BJ, but I will if he wants me to. It has been a tradition in my family to name their first born son after his grandfathers for over 100 years. It's a sign of great respect, something I wouldn't expect some of you to understand. Grow up.
I love the name Shelby. I always have. I also named my son Bruce. Shelby and Bruce have similar meanings plus, my name is also plant related. I like the theme. My problem is every time I hear the name Shelby, it's because someone is talking about their DOG. Should I rethink my choice?
Currently, I'm pregnant and actually having a baby girl. My husband told me he loves the name Shelby so... I guess that's it! What if I added another name? Shelby Rae Diane. Shelby Rae would be her first name. We're not from the south, so not sure my hubs will go for that. I do like it though.
My mom never had any of the grandchildren named after her and my dad has 2! So I would like to use her middle name, in honor of my mom. And Rae is my MILs middle name. I don't like Shelby Diane. Is two middle names ok or does it seem superfluous?
A few months ago, a dive into Grant Hill's Wikipedia page got me wondering. How many active teammates did he have? Curiosity piqued, I went from there and scanned over all NBA Hall of Famers and compiled their active teammates. And then did it with baseball. The NFL, with their much larger rosters, was a bit frightening, but here it is at last! First, a few ground rules.
A. Each player must have either played this year, or be on the injured reserve. No free agents, so players like Larry Fitzgerald were disqualified from this exercise.
B. Practice Squad DOES count. Tahir Whitehead played with Calvin and he's on a practice squad this year, I counted him. On the flip side, TO only played on the Seahawks practice squad in 2012, but I still counted the Hawks teammates.
C. Finally- I'm anything but perfect! I skimmed over all these rosters over a few hours, and I'm sure I missed a few here or there. Only caught Broncos Brett Kern, Steelers Brian Hoyer and Falcons Dustin Colquitt at the last moment. If you see where I erred, don't be afraid to correct me- I also used the rosters on Wikipedia, because Football Reference is murderously slow, so that might not capture the full season. Anyway, the players!

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
April 15th, 1912
The new top of the line British Ocean Liner, built in Belfast, Northern Ireland and sailed under the banner of the White Star Line, the Titanic was proclaimed as the one of the largest ships in the world with her sister ship, the Olympic and her planned third sister the Britannic. Already facing delays setting the date of her maiden voyage to April 12th due to logistical and timing difficulties, (Including a near miss crash with another ship called the S.S. City of New York due to the suction vortex of her propellers.) the liner would leave the Port of Southampton stopping first in Cherbourg, France and later Queensland before setting sail to New York with the expected travel time being that of seven days to arrive in port.

Under the command of Captain Edward Smith, nicknamed as 'The Millionaire's Captain' due to his reputation of successful Atlantic crossings with members of the rich elite of nations around the world to specifically sail upon ships under the command of Captain Smith. Combined with the advertised safety of the ship thanks to it's state of the art watertight bulkheads with the ability to close manually, via command on the bridge or automatically if all else failed and water was detected within the vessel's compartments.
The ship was quoted by Sir Thomas Andrews, Titanic's leading architect as "Practically unsinkable." Thus the Titanic would find it's self carrying many wealthy elite from British, American, French and other societies all intending to come to the Americas for one reason or another together with those within the Second and Third Classes who's main intents were to immigrate and start new lives within the New World.

Among the rich socialites and other notable individuals upon the ship, the third person of major importance was White Star Chairman J. Bruce Ismay, leading the company since 1899 after the death of his father in which Mr Ismay would play a role along with Andrews over the creation of Titanic, from it's mere concepts to it being welded into reality by factory workers in Belfast. Reportedly, Mr Ismay was sailing upon the Titanic with the intent for the ship to make headlines, arriving in record time and to boost White Star Line's revenue as an attempt to silence potential rumors of Mr Ismay selling off the company to J. P. Morgan.

This trade was just offered to me, I'd be getting the Miggy side.
Edit: Well, I accepted the trade, but am already starting to regret not attempting any counter-offers. Bruce is as much of a lock for 30 homers as anyone, and I expect Fielder to put up monster numbers. Really it is going to come down to what kind of production I get out of Adams before I can decide whether this was really worth it. But seeing Miggy clouded all judgment.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat
Do your worst!
How the hell am I suppose to know when itβs raining in Sweden?
Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

Now that I listen to albums, I hardly ever leave the house.
Two muffins are in an oven, one muffin looks at the other and says "is it just me, or is it hot in here?"
Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
