How did "white", self governing, colonies such as Canada and Australia come about? Did Britain plan to "create" these countries, or was their settlement by Europeans and national consciousness an unintentional and unplanned occurrence?

Reading about Australia's history, I'm intrigued by the question of self-governance and the birth of Australian national consciousness. Did the British Empire ever plan on settling en masse these far flung lands with Europeans, who would develop into a society that mirrored the European motherland? How did the Colonial Office react to this birth of Australian nationality? It seems that Australia was mostly treated as a dumping ground for criminals, and the white population there growing was purely accidental and not supposed to happen. At the same time, I don't see how an entire country could arise so quickly if the government hadn't supported emigration schemes and built infrastructure for self governance.

Did the Australian colonies prior to federation have more self-governing power than the US colonies?

Someone mentioned elsewhere one of the reasons the Australian colonies never rebelled from Britain like the American ones was that they had more self governing powers over themselves than the US colonies prior to the American Revolution had, even setting their own immigration policies. Is that correct?

Unlike most races, humanity does not live under a single highly centralised governing body/nation. Instead they split off and make colonies even just to be away from one another. This hasn’t changed even upon joining the Federation. If anything it’s gotten worse.

The number of hidden colonies being made and number of people β€œdisappearing” with almost all their tools and resources and currency keeps on increasing

The Galactic Federation has deemed these human colonies as a threat as many other people from other alien races are following their example

Citing constant rising in taxes, being unallowed to own and maintain their own weaponry, a rise in crime, not being allowed to have porn because it’s sexist, making use of illegal energy sources, being forced to attend school instead of learning via machinery and experience and so on

Seeing these hidden colonies making use of illegal nuclear and anti-matter energy plants which were deemed unsafe for use alongside many other illegal technological innovations that could disrupt the galactic economy

If the Sol Federation fails to bring back its wayward colonies into the fold, the Galactic Federation will

FOR THE GREATER GOOD!!!

The fact that we’re now capable of self governing is what’s making governments fight blockchain technology.

We’re taking that power from them in front of their eyes using blockchain technology and governance platforms and they are not having it.

It’s no coincidence that the government attacks are targeted mostly on DeFi platforms and DAOs that are creating platforms where people don’t really need the traditional financial system anymore.

This is why I’m heavy on investing in governance platforms like AAVE and ALGO and especially DeFi based new comers like New Orders’s NEWO that will launch on SushiSwap’s Miso pretty soon.

I suspect that there could be some escalation from the governments’ side in the upcoming periods though.

How were the individual German colonies governed? Did they have constitutions or 'organic acts' that laidout the governing functions of the Colonial State?

I'm interested in government structure and organization and the colonial period gives a wide variety of governments to look at so I'm curious about how German East Africa actually organized itself and how independent it would be.

Like how the US States each have constitutions that established powers to tax, have courts, raise militias, and make laws.

And before that the US Congress would pass an blank Organic Act that laid out that a territory would have governor serve 4 years, have a legislature, legal protections and so on until Statehood.

β€œProof or ban” - A self governing, unwritten law.

Regarding Watermelon guy.

There’s been some advocates for a ban reversal based on the thesis that β€œit was just a joke, and banning is basically equivalent to bullying”

We can all agree that there is nothing funny about an FTD. We don’t appreciate when Kenny and company do it, why would we allow a fellow Ape to do it?

Watermelon guy knew the consequences of not following through based on prior β€œproof or bans. Allowing him to come back with just a perma-flair would open up the cracks to many flair-seeking individuals looking for attention.

It is a slippery slope, one we must stay consistent with.

He needs to remain banned.

πŸ‰ πŸ†™ πŸ‘ was a sacrifice he was unwilling to make.

EDIT: I do believe that there is still time to make good on his bet, as there was no time frame Nor specification on type of watermelon. But, banned until complete is what should happen IMO.
