No matter how much you guys cut us off in traffic, flip us off with your middle finger to remind us that we're number one, deep down inside we know that you still love us. Thank you!
It's honestly the best discord community I've been a part of. These guys and gals have managed to keep me sane during the pandemic.

Taking a break, but damn the fun it was! Yeah yeah, down 10k, but I've not lost, for I've not sold.
As I said I am a new player (27 yrs old though lol) looking for a casual guild to find some other players to level and chat with. I'm mostly just tired of playing alone, getting a little bit boring. I'd also like to become a better player as I level so I could definitely benefit from other players (particularly shamans) who could give me some tips. Definitely nothing serious at all. Just looking for some people who like to have fun and aren't just silent completely silent.

I'll start off by telling you who I am. I'm a truck driver. I've been doing it a long time and I love it but I have to tell you, the other night was one of the first negative experiences I've had since I started driving in a long time, and it didn't even happen on the road.
I was hoping to get through Ohio before I had to stop and get some rest but I had hit some pretty bad traffic and ended up at a near standstill multiple times due to traffic accidents or construction. I decided to pull off at this rest stop from Hell around 9:00pm, I figured I could be up by about four or so and get some road to myself. This rest stop is on the northbound side of US-23 and it's a few miles away from Carey, Ohio, which is a small town that if you blink while you're driving through you'll miss it. The nearest large city is Findlay. I also chose this rest stop since even though it's a main highway, traffic seemed pretty light so the noise would be lower.
I pulled in and settling into the parking area designated for big rigs. I pulled right in and I parked next to the curb since I had the lot to myself. I didn't park in an actual spot because I thought this way I could just pull right out and get back on the road. I parked my rig straight as an arrow, perfectly parallel to the curb. I'm telling you this for later.
Now this rest stop isn't in the middle of the woods, but it does have quite a nice wooded area behind it. I used the facilities, enjoyed some fresh air, ate some dinner outside, then packed in as the sun was setting. The orange sky really did look great that night.
I readied my bunk and nestled in to do a little light reading before lights out. Now us truck drivers will leave the engine running over night while we sleep, and we do this for a variety of reasons. The most obvious is temperature control. Imagine trying to sleep in a vehicle when it's summer, especially if a driver is trying to catch some Z's during the day when it's 90 degrees outside. Another big one is that the engine idling is like white noise to some drivers and it helps them sleep. I know some guys that when they are home they have trouble sleeping without the sound of the idling. There's also some logistical reasons with the engine and mechanics that we'll leave the engine idle but I don't need to get in to that. The point is, my engine was running when I went to bed, that's another important point.
I woke up to my rig shaking, thinking it was an earthquake. I heard what I realize now was
... keep reading on reddit β‘First time at this rest area in Colorado and it has a sign that says no overnight camping, I'm assuming a 10 here is fine or should I expect a knock on my window telling me to move? All the other trucks in parking spots have their curtains closed idk if they parked during the day and are about to start rolling but I was just curious if anyone has parked at a rest area with those signs for their 10 hour break and had any problems.
Crypto is just beginning to become mainstream. I get a rush when people ask if I'm into Cryptocurrency π
Just a side note: He's working at 67 because he wants to, not because he's not financially able to retire. He has invested in stocks for decades. He has play money from a pension and is a tradesman. In no way is he trying to find financial stability.
ONE MORE NOTE: Guys, I didn't take advantage of some rich incompetent grandpa. He's a sharp, level-headed supervisor in a union. He draws from a 7-figure 401k. He just wanted to get started in crypto and asked my opinion, calm down.
(I am the grandson of Warren and Bonnie. I will be answering the questions for them as they sit next to me.)
Warren was born in 1926 and Bonnie was born in 1927. Warren joined the Navy at 18 and spent two and a half years aboard the U.S.S Alabama. In that time, he went to Japan during the Battle of Okinawa, where he nearly lost his hearing after large sixteen inch guns (Warren: That's what I call them...I don't know.) went off not even ten feet away from him
(Warren) After WWII, I came home in June of 1946, and went to college at Gonzaga University. I met Bonnie in 1947 in Hermiston, Oregon, got married, and then we built a house on ten acres of land where we lived for the next sixty-three years until 2013.
I have had six children, and now forty-seven grandchildren (Including great-grandchildren).
Bonnie was born in 1927 in Texas. During WWII she was in California. Next to her house, there was a small shack that had a red telephone in it that people were assigned to call the government in case planes flew overhead that could have been suspicious.
(Bonnie) I moved to Hermiston during WWII and then met Warren in 1947, who I married in 1949.
Feel free to ask us any questions you have about the U.S.S Navy in WWII, life in the 40s-present, building our home, ect.

(Update: They are taking a break and taking naps now. Keep the questions coming though, they will answer more when they get up in an hour. Thanks.)
(Update 2: They're done now. Thanks for the questions!)
(Update 3: I'm not with them anymore, but I know them well enough that I could answer some of your questions by myself. There are a lot of unanswered ones that I'm sure many of you would like to know, so I'll give it a go.)
THERE IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE SPECIFIED: WHEN I SAID 47 GRANDCHILDREN, I MEANT GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN INCLUDED. There are 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Each of their kids did NOT have like 8 children haha. I only have 2 siblings.
Iβm curious because I want to know what cancel culture in this Nation hasnβt disrupted yet.
