If recent reports are to be believed anyway. I’d love to see him there eventually, and continue his story with Malakai Black. I think he got unlucky with timing with the other guys coming in, and probably is the right move in the immediate future…

Notes – Played the most games of any AFL player without playing a final. Joseph Wren Award 2018. Member of leadership group.
Summary of 2018 season: Dunn contributed well in the first half of the 2018 season, showing that he is a real General down back for the Pies, if a little undisciplined at times (letting Jack Higgins kick two successive goals through a brain fade comes to mind). Tragedy struck not long after the bye, however, when Dunny tore his ACL in an innocuous incident contesting the footy. The Age reported immediately after his injury was confirmed that a new one-year deal had been in the works for some time, and at the end of the season this was signed. Dunn used a quad tendon (rather than the usual hamstring tendon) to graft the new ligament, with noted knee surgeon Dr Julian Feller proclaiming it was the biggest tendon he’d ever seen used in knee surgery. Dunn started running again during finals training, and is aiming to be ready for Round 1 (it is unknown how realistic this is, however).

Summary of 2018 season: Luckless defender (but fan favourite) Scharenberg broke into the team in Round 2 following Josh Smith’s hamstring injury (which proved fatal to his career at Collingwood) and performed extremely well, finally delivering on the expectations that had been set for him for so long. Unfortunately, like Dunn only a few weeks before, Scharenberg tore his ACL for a third time in his career during the second H&A Richmond game in an incident that has continuously been shown due to it occurring during Higgins’ GOTY play. His strong form throughout the year, however, earned him a two-year contract extension and pre-season footage released by the club has shown Scharenberg performing lateral movements as part of his rehabilitation.
