So I finished Far Cry 6 and overall I really liked it. I'd say its my second favourite Far Cry game, with 5 being my favourite still. Here are my rough thoughts:
Presentation: The game is beautiful. I played on PS5 and the performance was mostly great apart from some screentearing when flying. Yara is beautiful and the skybox designs with the sunrises and sunsets are amazing.
Weapons and gadgets: Super fun. The Supremos are a very fun gimmick and I like how you can choose different mods and gadgets on them, letting you build a bunch of different 'classes'. The guns are good and I liked how many there are to find.
Villains: Honestly, the villains are a major weakness of this game and are partly why I prefer Far Cry 5 to 6. John, Jacob, Faith are all super memorable to me as sub-villains of their own regions. 6 failed to have any interesting sub-villains. Jose was one note, Maria and Benetiz were underused and the doctor seemed to come out of nowhere. The only entertaining villain was McKay because he was so over the top.
As for the main villain, Ginacarlo did another amazing job. However, I felt like Anton was just Giancarlo monologuing for most the game and he never really felt like a unique villain compared to Vaas, Pagan Min and Joseph Seed. By the end of the game Anton became a lot more developed with the reveal of his sickness.
Amigos: Compared to the 9 companions in Far Cry 5, having 5 companions here is underwhelming. Its also a shame that they are all animals so they aren't interesting characters compared to some of the companions in 5. Guaco, the rooster and the panther were my most-used while I hardly touched Chorizo and Boom Boom.
Story: The first region was very bland in my opinion. The plot was identical to some of the region plots in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with a important figure dying and everyone else having to step up. Luckily, I enjoyed the second and third region a lot more. Maximas Manatis were an interesting bunch of characters and Bembe was a very fun mini villain.
El Tigre and Jonron's deaths caught me completely off guard. In fact, the game had a bunch of savage deaths with Clara and Diego both dying before the credits rolled.
I wish the regions had better villains like in Far Cry 5 so it felt more like we were actually overthrowing the regime. In this game whenever you defeated a sub-villain, a new one would take their place.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

This is gigantic, I know, maybe another couple of gaming super fans have some time to tell me what you think.
I played and let it sit in my mind for a while before making any kind of judgements as a whole but man.. I was let down by 6. Im also big headed enough to include at the end how I would change the story.. curious of what you think.
This starts random but becomes more itemized as I go. For starters they marketed this game in a dishonest way let’s be honest. They did not in anyway follow through on the marketed city warfare aspect. Outside of scripted missions the city of Esperanza itself is pointless. If you venture into parts of the city that take place during a scripted mission, those scripts are still running. Like Dani not being able to jump and climb at the beginning of the game. Revisit that building, you can’t jump. The wall within the city to wall off the different scripted mission areas exist to prevent us the access so the devs wouldn’t have to actually create that as a fleshed out sandbox area.
The reality is the game map itself had unrealized potential even outside the city. To bad it all sits there lifeless. Never seen a military dictatorship survive with next to military presence before.. This decision to have a dozen checkpoints that are identical rather than having well scripted ai for the unique locations around the map felt pretty lazy. As did these checkpoints being a stand in for more outposts.
Surely I’m not the only one whom realized that 3-4 enemies standing around not really guarding the area or each other is not up to standard. I won’t go into the AI that’s just a self evident downgrade.
How many times did you come across an anti aircraft gun with no soldiers whatsoever?
Oh wow a huge trespassing area with an interesting military installation, can’t wait to explore... oh wait there’s just one soldier standing stationary facing the middle of the area and absolutely nothing to see or read that changes the story.
So far I’ve yet to find in game lore that adds intriguing new information. For example in 5 you can discover that Faith Seed was one of multiple faiths and that the others had been disposed of for not fulfilling Joes plan to carry his child. You won’t find that out without visiting a treasure spot and reading notes both there and in like 2 other locations. It’s small but it adds so much context.
However in far cry 6 the most I’ve found so far are simple backstory or mindless humdrum about soldiers, t
