A list of puns related to "Manipulation (psychology)"
I've been here since February. My first position was at $12, buying after the first small pump in January. By mid February my average cost was $8.50. I'm an XXXX holder and I've watched insane manipulation happen, time and time again, over and over, for months. It's all theater; a masquerade.
The more hedgies manipulated, the more we all bought. It only hurt them and helped us, even though the price kept going down. Eventually we were below $6 again and we worked all the way back past $8.01 and then $14.01 and then we went sideways.
They kept manipulating.....pushing us back down to $10. Over and freaking over. Again, we bought their shorts. They sold shorts, we soaked them up. The manipulation again only hurt them.
We eventually popped over $20, then $40, $70 and they began manipulating again. They've been desperately manipulating since early June. Just like before.....I'm telling you apes.....it's only going to hurt them.
Today feels shitty, tomorrow may feel worse. When you realize it all doesn't mean shit and you buy more shares....then you become a true silverback.
Don't get scared. Don't fight with each other. Just remember why you started this fight. Understand that the % of free float on loan today is more than it was in early June. Understand that when we see days like today....they are hurting themselves and sooner or later our fucking tendies will come.
Be patient, stay convicted, be a true ape π¦ππ
Apes are fucking stronger together....don't forget that.
(Not financial advice, I'm just a dumb ape)
TLDR: Hedge Funds used user data, from Robinhood and other "free" brokers, to coordinate a massive sell off and balance out some of their dark pool settlements with STOP LOSS. HEDGE FUNDS ARE USING YOUR DATA FOR IN REAL-TIME MANIPULATION OF THE MARKET!
Since last Friday I have noticed a pattern with the price of GME going up and dipping down(ladder attacks) at certain hours and for certain length of time. This has been so consistent, I was able to call out to the minute when it would happen, even yesterday's crash. You can see my post history on this. I was also suspicious of what this would ultimately mean(an hour prior to the crash). I just wasn't able to foresee one aspect of it. The end goal, and later on how it worked so well to crash the prices. I posted that the hedge funds and brokers would have to settle their T+2 and 10 day delay settlements(from Feb 26) by Wednesday, and that the price of the stock would rise by a lot. The DTCC changes are forcing these brokers and hedge funds to balance their books to avoid huge security depository costs or being drop off the NCSS list. To do this, the HF and brokers would need to minimize their dark pool shares by buying real shares at at loss. However they were not about to take a massive loss through a short/gamma squeeze. To minimize their losses, they needed to lower the price of the shares during their buy backs. For the past few days, they have been doing small short attacks to lower the price to keep themselves in the ITM and replacing those dark pool shares with real shares at a loss. So when you see those large bumps in prices at 11:15 to 12:15 and 3:45 to 4:00, those purchases are from the HF closing their shorts.
The HFs have been doing this to also create a pattern recognition for the retailers. The consistency was too simple for anyone to NOT notice it and not want to get in on the action. The trade volumes have been increasing during the "manipulation period" for the past week. The psychological term for this is Priming. Creating an artificial 3rd party confirmation bias. People who work at HFs are some of the smartest people in the world. They know what they are doing and most importantly, know how to manipulate. The main reason they can do this is because they have the number one weapon to do so. USER DATA. Brokers like RobinHood gives your user data to hedge funds and market-makers at real time. THEY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TRADING. They know HOW you are trading. And the

Dark psychology refers to the mindset and techniques people can use to get what they want. Often aligned with the dark triad and manipulative people seeking to better them while harming everyone around them, dark psychology can be an effective skill to develop and master for yourself if you have to interact with other people. In fact, many people in public positions or positions of power turn to dark psychology to learn how to better get the results they want. Even salespeople frequently are taught skills that would fall within the list of dark psychology manipulation or mind control.
Keep in mind that there is manipulation, and there is an influence. Influence is normal; it involves swaying others to allow for goals to be worked toward. When influencing others, boundaries are honored and it is based on honest communication and respect for the other person, including respecting if the other person decides not to do whatever it is you would like. In contrast, manipulation is covert and coercive. The manipulator uses cunning and power to sway the other person.
This book covers:
And much more.
Dark psychologyβs manipulation is primarily selfish. Every bit of manipulation is to ensure that the individualβs wants come to exist. They do not care about the outcomes, or how it may impact the other person - they are only concerned with themselves. This book will help you on how to master dark psychologyβs manipulation.

This two-book bundle will teach you to read and analyze people, and how to defend yourself from dark psychology.
Not everyone has your best interests at heart. Itβs a sad truth, but one we need to be on guard against. Reading and analyzing people means being able to note cues in someoneβs demeanor and deduce their intentions. Analyzing unconscious reactions such as posture, movements, gestures, tone, expressions, and eye contact will help you better understand someoneβs plans. Being able to read people helps you be on guard from those that seek to manipulate you.
This brings us to the second book in this bundle. Dark psychology is generally aligned with people manipulating others to get what they want. However, when used properly, it can be a powerful way to out-maneuver others trying to use the tactics against you. This guide will teach you the difference between Influence and manipulation as well.

"Strategic influence is nothing new; the United States has conducted strategic influence campaigns since its inception. The history of strategic influence in the United States has been a roller coaster, with ups and downs and occasional unexpected turns in new directions. And like a roller coaster, we always seem to end up back where we started. This oscillating approach has been a result of a peculiarly American outlook that using persuasion and influence at the national level is somehow unethical and inconsistent with a democracy, that using βpsychological tricksβ is βdirtyβ and immoral, and that itβs completely unnecessary: there is no need to overtly persuade; the United States should just factually show the world who we are, and everyone will automatically recognize how wonderful we are and want to emulate us. The successful propaganda efforts of U.S. enemies also contributed to the American distaste in many circles for strategic influence. Anything that smacked of propaganda or psychological warfare became something that only the βbad guysβ did: first the Nazis, then the Soviets. Fortunately, despite this attitude and resistance, most U.S. administrations in the latter half of the 20th Century recognized both the value and need for strategic influence."
For those who do not know who this is, Yuri Bezmenov was an Ex-KGB agent who essentially blew the whistle on how psychological warfare is being played out today.
You may be thinking βokay cool, how does this apply to AMC?β. This is how I see itβ¦as things progress, Iβm sure there are some apes whoβs resolve is being tested and thatβs what this post is about.
To quote Bezmenov βpsychological warfare changes the perception of reality to such an extent that despite the abundance of information, no one is able to come to sensible conclusionsβ.
The reason Iβm referencing this is because we have all the DD laid out and can rationally see perfectly well that apes hold the winning hand. No doubt, these hedge funds are employing their only weapon and that weapon is psychological warfare. To engage the emotions of the apes and thus blind any rationality.
Hearing this come from a man who worked at the KGB (and who stated that psychological manipulation was the main focus of the KGB) shows just how powerful manipulation of our own emotions to be used against us, can be.
This post is to bring back to rationality, anyone who has been pulled into their emotional state. Rationality and logic beats erratic emotion.
Essentiallyβ¦Apes are holding whether you (the individual) are pulled into irrationality or not. The funny thing is, as time has gone on, Apes have only come way closer to the goal. Did you come this far, to only come this far? Or are you ready for a change in your life?
TLDR; Your emotions may become engaged, bring back your rationality to see clearly all of the great DD which has been done.
NFA, see you brilliant apes on the moon π¦ππππππππππππ

My thoughts about this sideways action. I am an ape with no financial background, so take this as you will.
Whenever a week, day, or time gets hyped...the stock goes sideways. Could it be hedgies are dragging so they can make money elsewhere and cover some projected losses?
Or, are they playing groupthink psychology manipulation on a massive scale?
Likely both, imo, and I am curious as to what would happen if the GME apes of reddit-ville were silent instead of boisterous?
Don't get me wrong, I will celebrate all the same WHEN MOASS, however, we have an opportunity to mind-fuck the hedgies right back by eliminating all of the "IT'S HAPPENING" posts when we see 4+ green candles in a row.
Watch. Wait. HODL. Not financial advice. Rocket. Rocket. Diamond. Hands. OOH. OOH. AHH. AHH.
I wasnβt quite sure where to discuss this, but I wanted to share a story and maybe get some insight into other peopleβs past experiences that may be similar, and what you all have found as a liberation for yourselves; it seemed fitting here for reasons Iβll explain:
Quick backstory: when I was 20, I had just finished a 2 year stint in Canada for Jr. Hockey. I got too old for the league and returned home, defeated, in the USA. I forgot about loving hockey, and playing it because I want to, and just pretended I didnβt play at all. I focused on what felt good, like drinking too much and befriending βinterestingβ people, who, as I found out, turned out to be master manipulators. Not many. Just a few. And enough to convince others to rely on them for spiritual/psychological guidance and health as a βpseudoβ- guru, or a false prophet of sorts.
LSD and Psilocybin played big parts in this. Lucky for me, I was alone or with only 1 other person most times I took these compounds. It was clear that the patterns of our reality arenβt made aware to many, and some that do see them, seize the idea to use them for egoic purposes.
After a crashing stop to that chapter in my life 2 years later, I cut off everyone in that weird, psychological hierarchy for good. I also received the Tao Te Ching for Christmas from my mom. I read all of it the first week I had it, and the message was the same in every passage: thereβs nothing wrong with me, and I deserve myself as I need to be. I belong right where I am, even if it appears unbearable to others, or underwhelming. Healing requires gentle love for myself, and all of myself. This isnβt something to be done once in awhile. Taoism has largely transformed my mind, and it is difficult with my highly active mentality sometimes, and history with sports and things of that nature. Using Taoism in hockey though, is absolutely wonderful. Iβve found that daily practice nurtures our souls into the fresh air of freedom, so that we may give it to our world.
If anyone wants to discuss, or dm, feel free! Just thought Iβd share.
Recently somewhere on Social Media I saw a video of some sort of manipulation technique where one person keeps bugging someone over and over again even after theyβve told them to stop, and when the person who is annoyed retaliates they would be told that they were overreacting.
If anybody could give me the name of this Manipulation trick please write it in the replies.
Thanks in advance
Hi everyone! Iβve been receiving a lot of (presumably fake and spam) book ads by βRobert mindβ on dark psychology and manipulation. Iβm not buying them because they seem fake, but it got me thinking whether there were any good books (well researched, etc) on this subject at all? I.e lying, reading body language, etc etc
I am minoring in psychology and majoring in computer information technology. I plan on going into cybersecurity. The reason I am minoring in psychology is because in cybersecurity it is useful to know how criminals use psychological manipulation tactics. To do this, one must understand psychological manipulation tactics in general before applying it to cybersecurity. Basically, I want to be a penetration tester and this is knowledge that can help on the job in order to make sure employees are well informed and are able to spot things like phishing attacks and phone scams so I have to be educated on psychology to be able to test these things out in order to help inform employees of these kinds of cyber attacks.
Which upper division psychology class or classes would help me get an understanding of psychological manipulation tactics? Or which psychology classes that I could take as an upper division elective? I may even be able to take two classes because I will probably need an extra class to reach the required units to graduate anyways. But either way I get one upper division psychology elective.
Pain seems like a bad thing someone wouldn't want to have. So from a naive perspective, one might think pwBPD don't want to feel psychological pain but are faced with it due to their psychological problems. But maybe on some level they want that pain and find it useful?
Feeling constant psychological pain may blunt acute psychological pain which can result from their inner experiences or experiences with others. It's somewhat easier to face constant pain than to be repeatedly hit with intense pain. I other words, it decreases vulnerability.
The pain can also affect how others view them and treat them.
It may cause others to be nicer toward the pwBPD, not wanting to hurt them more. Maybe this defended them from abuse sometimes during childhood and it became a habit?
Pain can also be a reason why they get their way. Seeing their extreme pain, people can be willing to give them what they want and expect others to give them what they want. Others who seem to be in less pain may be expected to make sacrifices to help the pwBPD because of their pain.
Edit: I don't mean that this is a question I'm wondering about. I know that pain is being used as tool to some extent and do not need someone's validation to believe it. This post was made to get others to wonder about it and maybe see some of these patterns.
Thoughts about this were inspired by the video Stop self-punishment to heal from narcissistic abuse as the scapegoat by Jay Reid.
I've recently started listening to an audiobook of "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. The next morning after making this post I started with a section from part 1 chapter 2 which seems to relate to this.
