A list of puns related to "London Farmers' Markets"
My boyfriend and I were just enjoying our morning at the farmerโs market in Little Italy, when a guy and his wife approached us.
Guy- โHey! Did you go to San Diego State?โ
My bf - โNo, I didnโt.โ
Guy - โOh man, cause you look familiarโฆโ
We start making chit chat. The guy is doing most of the talking, I noticed, and his wife is kind of just there. She starts making chit chat with me about where Iโm from, what we do for work, what neighborhood we live in, blah blah blah. They just seemed like a friendly couple at first.
Then I noticed the dude talking about how he just retired at 30-something from working as a bio-mechanical engineer, and how theyโre โfinancially independentโ and earning a โpassive incomeโ (red flag terminology for scammers)
I asked, โoh, so like youโre doing property investment now or something? Good for you guys!โ
And he kept it soooo vague, no details at all. Kept talking about how they met a couple at church who taught them everything about financial independence and passive income, yada yada yada.
Again, the wife didnโt say anything about this stuff, it was all the husband talking. Anyways, the wife asked for my number and made it seem like she just wanted a friend to hang out with. And I thought, โokay, Iโll give her my number, but Iโm not falling for her husbandโs MLM scam or whatever it is.โ
When my boyfriend and I left, we both said โoh, thatโs definitely some kind of scam.โ
Sure enough, I check this sub to see if anyone else has had a similar experience and, yup, total scam. They do this all the time. Donโt fall for it. Now Iโm kinda bummed because I thought I had just made a new girlfriend to go out for drinks with. Fuckers.
This couple in particular was an **** guy and a *** lady, around early to mid-thirties. They said their names were โ*****โ & โ****โ (who knows if thatโs even true lol)

Does anyone sell wares at farmers markets in London? I'm curious about how you find it, business-wise. I've been interested in it for some time now. Does anyone know what the regulations on selling food are? I know in some cities you have to have prepared the food in a commercial kitchen. Is that true here? Thanks for any help.
Iโm shopping for nice olive oil, artisanal mushrooms or just some plain old ice cream, and wanna eat it happily, without dog hair in my mouth or dog smell. And Iโm allergic to dogs and donโt want your mutt near me. Please listen. Itโs a violation of health code to have dogs near food like that, because of bacteria contaminating food (especially ready-to-eat stuff), and also it can cause people like me who wanna enjoy food but have severe dog allergies break out in hives.
Iโm not anti-dog, but I want you to respect the rules so that we can all enjoy food without having doggie bacteria or hair on it, and so that our friends with allergies can eat happily without breaking out in hives and being unable to breathe. Thank you.
Edit: I love how Iโm being downvoted for a totally reasonable point. Itโs a health code violation. Stay mad, folks.
Edit 2: keep it civil. Donโt insult me, or anyone else, and donโt come after me because I have personal opinions.
I was just taking a leek.
I need to rant.
My partner and I have been looking for a rental property around the Brixton / Herne Hill area for 4 months now, with a budget of ยฃ1,500 - weโre fully expecting weโll get a one bedroom flat with some sort of small outdoor space. We know the compromise is an outdoor space over a second bedroom.
We have joined many waitlists. We have had countless viewings. We have even offered on numerous properties without even seeing them first.
We have had absolutely no success. Weโve either been too late to view the property as 8 other people viewed just before us and all of them offered, or weโve simply been outbid, even when we put an offer in before viewing.
Just yesterday, we decided to offer ยฃ1,560 for a TINY one bed with a shared outdoor space - which was ยฃ60 above the asking price. We found out today that some utter fucking morons offered ยฃ1,700 per month - thatโs over ยฃ20,000 a year!! - for a fucking tiny one bedroom, semi-run-down flat whose owner lives in Thailand, who likely doesnโt give a shit about the property.
The fact that weโre living in a market where weโre literally bidding for the privilege to pay someone elseโs mortgage is utterly preposterous - it is fucked.
This should not be legal. The listed price of a rental property should be the final price it is let for - landlords should decide who takes the property based on the applicants credentials that we have to provide, otherwise the whole applications process is a moot point if all that matters is the fucking offer price.
Weโve been driven to the point where weโre now seriously considering whether we can afford to buy something, albeit very small. Weโve found one bed flats on the same road as the one bed that some idiots are paying ยฃ1,700 per month for, priced at ยฃ400,000 - if we put a 10% deposit down, we could have a mortgage of ยฃ1550 and actually be home owners! We canโt afford that deposit whatsoever, but we have to ask the question - what else can we do? Weโre certainly not going to offer ยฃ200 above an asking price on a property we wonโt actually own.
I really had to get that off my chest. I am tired of expending this much effort looking for a rental property that wonโt really ever be my own home. This whole concept of bidding for rental properties is ridiculous, and it is absolutely not fair. Our Tory government wonโt ever seek to change anything about this either - itโs this sort of market that makes the rich even richer.
As much as I love London, I really do
... keep reading on reddit โกBrandon is โstunnedโ to learn that hamburger is now $5 a lb; says heโs going to take this up with the meat packers. Hey imbecile: why donโt you take it up with Jerome Powell, Yellen the Felon, and Ben Bernanke, whose deranged money printing since 2008 is the #1 cause of soaring inflation?
President Biden announced another crackdown on the meat processing industry on Monday in an effort to 'fight for fair prices' for both ranchers and farmers and American people.
Citing a monopoly in the meat processing market, the Biden administration announced Monday it would spend $1 billion from the American Rescue Plan to expand the capacity for independent meat processors.
It's a new year and I've resolved to eat more fresh veg. We'll see how long that lasts, but while I'm in the mood I'd like to find the best fruits and veg London has to offer.
It seems to me that farmers' markets would be the best place to look, but most of the markets I've been to in London, aside from Marylebone, are almost entirely focused on cooked food.
Are there any you lot would recommend, ideally "real" farmers' markets featuring the farmers who have actually grown the veg on sale?
I live East but can schlep pretty far if it's worth it.

$10 at the door. Weed, edibles, concentrates, glass, clones, you name it.
There is an MLM couple that legit just approaches other couples out of the blue at the farmer's market and they try to recruit people. It's been going on for over a year now. This isn't my post, it's a direct post on the city's local sub though:
