A list of puns related to "List of funk rock bands"
Guerilla Toss's influences in the beginning mostly consisted of skronky punk riffs with fervent vocals skittering across each speaker. We really liked The Slits, James Chance and the Contortions, and all those weird "No New York" compilation tracks, and it shows. We were born and raised in dirty DIY basements, but lately we have been trying to come up for air, talk to more people, connect, and experiment with different types of music. Our entire musical catalog is pretty diverse and draws influence from ALL OVER, including (but not limited to) African psych-rock, krautrock, funk, punk rock, no wave, dance, electronic music and more... So check em all out! They're all a little different.
We've been a band for a while and have released many albums on many labels, most recently DFA Records and NNA Tapes. We have toured relentlessly in the United States, Canada, and even Europe, and we don't feel like stopping anytime soon. After open-heart surgery and a severe opiate addiction two years ago, I feel like I have a new outlook on life, creativity, and personal truth.
Today our EP What Would the Odd Do? was released into the world, and I feel like it's our most personal album yet. Basically, it's my baby. I'm here to see what you think and to get you hyped about this west coast tour that we begin tomorrow! Soooo any questions????

Hey, I hope nobody is offended by this post since it is no direct RHCP content. However I think many of you could like the sound of my band Anchester. We are Chili Peppers influenced since we are all big fans, but we try to give that funk-rock sound its own spin. Constructive criticism is appreciated.

So this band was very dear to me and my friends in my teens so I have been researching about them at times. Turns out that there is very little even about their second album "On the S.S. anytime" to find on google.
Some years have passed and what I could find out is some members name through ancient MySpace and Triple J Sites. But what is really interesting is that the Triple J site said that there was a debut Album but it didnt mention its title. The Singer is a pick up coach today (ugh) and seems to have moved on from music.
As a long shot I used the contact form on his website and asked polietly if they could share any more information about the band and their first album. But other than a nice but unprecise mail, thanking me for being a fan there was nothing new.
After digging even deeper on google, I found some sketchy abandoned websites which listed their first album as "Soul Sangha", some even with a tracklist. None of the links I could find worked though.
This now feels like I have hit the end of my reach. I kinda just hoped some of you would recognise the Name or know of an other possible ways to get my hands on that sweet, sweet funk
thanks, y'all
all strung out over you by the Chambers Brothers. People always like to mention Time Has Come Today, but they have so many other sweet tracks. The bassline and cowbell really do it for me here.
evie by Stevie Wright. Again, super catchy track, and groovy vocal harmonies in the pre-chorus. Thick guitar sound and a moving bassline kind of keep it together for me. It's a LONG track
We're an american band by Grand Funk Railroad again, don't know what it is about the cowbell, but it kind of helps lay down a sweet introduction. This is probably the most famous track on the list.
What'd I say By Rare Earth. Another super groovin track. Great group vocals, and a catchy guitar riff. I Just Wanna Celebrate is easily their most famous track, but I'm trying to stay away from the super well known stuff here
So I guess what I wanna talk about is would you even categorize these as a part of the same Genre? What bands had a similar sound? I'm definitely on the younger side of the age curve, and no one I talk to seems to be able to suggest things that are too similar to this.
Looking forward to the comments!
This song is called Mr. Blow, itβs the latest single from my band, Blackvoid. At the time of recording, my slapping technique had become a bit rusty, but Iβm glad how it came out. What do you guys think about the tone? Feedback would be really appreciated! Hope you dig it! Blackvoid - Mr. Blow
