Please bear w/ me, first time AR owner-Saint Victor. The rifle doesn't have a bolt catch. Not sure if this is a California thing or not-CA legal, juggernaut mag release. My question is, when I pull back the charging handle w/o a mag inserted, is there a way to lock it in place so the chamber is open (range safety, locking w/ cable, malfunctions, etc)?
My apologies if my question is stupid. Just trying to learn the basics and obviously operate safely. Any input is much appreciated!
