It’s June but winter isn’t gone in Wyoming yet. Cold and peaceful lake in GTNP this last weekend.

Mt Banner (near June Lake CA) winter route advice
I’m planning on climbing Mt Banner with one other climber this weekend. I was wondering if anyone has done this route before and knows if the route from the Banner Ritter saddle will be covered in snow. Most trip reports I’ve found are summer so not sure what it’ll look like this weekend. The last 1000’ looks like it’s sketchy without a rope if it is icy or snow covered although everyone says it’s a Class 2 route.
Has anyone done this in winter? Did you have a rope? Will this section be snowy this time of year?

Is the Lake Shore Limited or Cardinal from Chicago to NYC more reliable in the winter? I’ve heard bad things about snow delays with the LSL in the winter. Would the cardinal on average be a faster trip, even though the scheduled time is actually longer?

Now that winter is coming and the lakes will be freezing over soon, it's time to erect a temporary seasonal Culver's in the middle of Lake Mendota. As you can see from this map, most of the lake is at least 3 miles away from all the other Culver's locations, so this is allowed under Culver's bylaws.
