Hi team need help for a gift for a friend who is quite different to me, please help!
Note: trying to avoid 'stuff' that serves no purpose, so no candles/decorations please!
Hey so two years ago or so ago I discovered the specialty food section of the Winners at Tillicum Centre; found some fantastic spices, mustards (incl several truffle oil mustards), olives (probably the best olives I've ever had), specialty oils and other stuff that aid in cooking.
When the pandemic hit, their selection went way, way down, to almost bare shelves, March thru the early summer. They started getting some interesting stuff back in, but not so much. Even today, it's not anywhere near what it was over a year ago.
In the meantime, I checked out the same areas on the Marshalls at Hillside, and the Home Sense at Cloverdale.
IMO, the selection is best at the Tillicum Winners, okay at the Homesense Cloverdale Rd, and really bad and bare bones at the Marshalls at Hillside Mall.
Has anyone been at these brands' other locations, and can you speak to how well stocked their specialty foods area is? I'm hoping to find one even better stocked than the Winners at Tillicum.
Looking for some advice for an awesome gift for a chef. Something he can use at work or when heβs off, but work related. Some cool and useful gadget. Something that he will not forget in a weekβs time. Something that solves a problem... The foodie type gadgets are usually sh!t, I want to give him something that he will actually use. I donβt have a budget set for it and donβt mind spending a couple of hundred euro for a good gift.
What would YOU like to get as a gift?
