A list of puns related to "Hen (pronoun)"
Hej!
So I came across the pronoun "hen" lately, and from what I understood it is a genderless one.
However, I was wondering wether it was similar to the "das" pronoun in german (gender-neutral but also completely dehumanising), in which case it wouldn't be suitable to talk about an individual, or if it was more like the english "they". Which is it? And how do I use it?
Tack pΓ₯ fΓΆrhand!
PS: I'm new to Swedish and just started to use pronouns so please keep the explanations simple.
Just curious about your opinions.

So today was/is "wear it purple day" in my country. for those of you who are not familiar with this phenomenon: it's a day where people wear purple to show they support the LGBT community.
I pass pretty well as a guy. Have been on T since 15, so my voice is deep. However, when I was walking through the gates when school was over, some 4th year students (I'm 6th, 17 y/old) shouted at me. I was walking outside with only a t-shirt on) they said "aren't they cold" to each other, not trying to be inclusive, it's just easier to say "die" (dutch gender neutral pronoun) to refer to others sometimes. Then they shouted at me "hey young lady, aren't you cold?" "Is he a girl" "she, he, whatever" "it"
Then they proceeded to shout "are you gay?!" (Was wearing purple)
Idk why I never talk back when those type of people ask me questions. Its not that they scare me or intimidate me, just their vibe isn't it. Wish I did answer them back now tho
And this, my guys, is why I hate it/it's pronouns. I'm not a fucking "it"
On the other hand, my brother is completely out of his "the boys π₯π₯Ά" stage. He wore purple today. I'm proud at him and happy he's an awesome "woolen socks" type of person. My sister also wore purple, shes shy and I think it took some balls to wear it for her. Idk but my siblings are pretty cool
It was also good to see all the teachers wearing purple
I'm not sure if this discussion has arisen here before, but I have never seen it being discussed so here it goes. I'm comfortable with the use of he/they pronouns in English, but I'm not really that sure about it in my native language (Portuguese) or other languages that I speak. What I'm trying to say is: is using different pronouns in different languages a thing? I feel that I theoretically could have different pronouns in different languages, but I haven't seen it being discussed anywhere. Let's discuss!
Edit: I probably wasn't clear enough about what I meant. I was talking about if a person could choose to express themself differently in different languages because they feel like, and not necessarily (just) because of the way different languages work.

Hej! As you can see by my username, I'm non-binary. Jag tycker om anvΓ€nda 'They/Them" i engelska, men i svenska, det finns bara 'han' och 'hon', och 'de/dem' verka att vara bara plural, i motsats till hur 'they/them' kan bli singular.
Min pojkvΓ€n, who is native to Sweden, has said that there is more recently a pronoun which is singular and without gender, which is 'hen'. So I just wanna check here if 'hen' is fine to use, as from what I can tell it's also a new word; singular 'they' has existed forever yet today there's plenty of people who say it can't be used like that, so I'm even more worried that 'hen' is just something that will be seen as stupid and not real.
NΓ₯got svar fΓΆr detta vore bra, tack!
(Edit: So many cool replies! I'd reply to them all but I'm too shy. Cool to see discussion about this word tho, so thanks everyone, y'all are cool!!)
I don't speak Swedish so all the articles I am reading about it are in English and therefore biased. I would like to know what you guys, the Swedes, think about it. For more info about it:

Thank you :)
To start, let me say that my husband and I do not care about our childrenβs or their friends gender identities beyond a deep desire to respect the young people in our lives and create a supportive and positive environment for them. Weβre both queer, we understand how hard navigating adolescence can be, and we want to make sure our home is accepting and welcoming to everyone who steps foot in our door.
Our daughterβs friends go through frequent pronoun changes. Often each time I see one of these kids, they will be using a different set of pronouns and a new name and I cannot for the life of me keep it all straight. Our relationship with her friends is cordial and thatβs about it, which honestly I feel is appropriate. Iβm not a teenager, and so beyond exchanging pleasantries, providing snacks, and offering a ride home they are not a big part of my life. I would honestly struggle to remember their names if they WERENT changing regularly.
Butβ¦every time I get it wrong, my daughter gets incredibly offended on their behalf. I am trying so hard but it is just exhausting. Questioning who you are at this age is developmentally appropriate and I donβt begrudge them that, but I also canβt wait till her social group settles into more long lasting identities.
For now Iβm just apologizing frequently and baking a lot of cookies.
Would love to hear all the awful stories on how an organised βfunβ trip turned into one of the worst weekends of your life. Could be crazy over the top chaos that ended in disaster or mundane βeveryone was drunk by midday and I had to sleep in a bunk bedβ.

I have always used they in a third person format. I recently came across a post, where the OP was referring to their partner as 'they'. I was really confused. I thought OP was talking about some third person or another group of individuals. Then I realized that OP was referring to their partner...
Sorry if this post comes off as homophobic, it is not intended that way. I am just really confused about pronouns. Also I am scared to call someone by the wrong pronoun by accident...
Edit : Ok so I was gone for around 4 hours only to come back to this post receiving a lot of engagement! Thank you to everyone who gave me advice. I am not a native english speaker but I am trying to learn so that I may not accidently offend someone. And again, I am sorry if this post came out as homophobic. I really really didn't mean it that way :( I am just trying to learn and its really confusing lol...
Edit : Many people are sending me hateful dms :( I am sorry...
Also to the person who reported me to u/redditcareresources, I know you had the best intentions in mind...
Edit : I am blown away by the response this post got! There were numerous helpful redditors who took their time to message me advice and positive things. It makes me really happy that many people understood me and were ready to help. Thank you again.
And also thank you u/Quanadia who gave me the gold award!
