I am very confused about the age when it comes to competing in junior level in Russia. Gleb is currently 21 years old ( on August 22 ), while Diana is 18 years old. How can they be still in junior, when Kamila next year will turn senior ( being 15 years old ). Can somebody explain?

This is the story of Ekaterina Mitrofanova, the single skater and a dancer.

Russian skaters continue to switch to other nations teams no matter the stricter rules in case of change of passport or other circumstances. Rather the opposite, insane competitiveness inside Russia makes switching nation a more desired option. And you can argue a good release deal with skating federation, depending on nation of destination. Last week we learned about Semyon Danilyants switching to Armenia. And it’s not the final off season transfer. Today we’ll tell you about another one: dance pair of Ekaterina Mitrofanova and Vladislav Kasynski are going to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in international competitions.

18 years old Mitrofanova has rather uncommon history. She worked with Sergey Davydov. Eteri Tutberidze (pre-Olympics season 20016/17), won silver in Juniors GP stage in Poland in 2015, Russian Cup stages, got into top-10 in Juniors Nationals, but disappeared from the radar for a long time due to injuries, although, according to her results, could continue her career in the national team.

She’ll continue her career in the national team, but in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in dancing. How did it happen, she told us in this interview.

-Ekaterina, first of all, let’s clear up the chronology of your career, it’s rather rich of events.

- Yeah, rather rich! (Laughs) In single skating I started with Anna Tsareva, Sergey Davydov then switched to Eteri Tutberidze. Then I switched to dancing with Svetlana Alekseeva and Elena Kustarova, came back to single skating with Viktoria Butsayeva, but something about 2.5 years ago came back to dancing once again. And gonna represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in dances with Vladislav Kasynski.

- Why skaters are leaving Russia? Competititon too hard?

- In general, yes, to make it to international competitions. It’s almost unrealistic to represent Russia in dances, especially if you start at the age of 16-17. And, well, there’s a desire to develop figure skating all over the world, so not only Russian skaters can get medals. This is an attempt to inspire some love for this sport in another country.

- Some people may start calling you traitors, Russophobes… What do you say to this?

There’s no betrayal of my homeland. I love Russia, we’re training in Moscow with our Russian coach Oleg Volkov. I always root for our athletes. It’s just objectively, the ‘queue’ in dances is set for many years ahead. And we want to travel

the first stop of this years tour of Team Tutberidze Show of Champions on Ice will be Kazan, April 2.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
