Hi I was thinking of living in Esch-sur-Alzette, but I am hearing that it is pretty dangerous to live there especially at night when you go home. Does someone live in Esch and can share their experience with me?

Im organising a Maraude for the homeless peoples in Esch-sur-Alzette.
For this were searching for clothes that will keep you warm during this cold times, sleeping bags etc.
If you do have old clothes that youre not wearing anymore, please consider donating them !
This month and the following will be very cold and unfortunly not everyone can sleep in a shelter especially since the places are very limited ( 18 places in Abrisud in Esch/Alzette ).
Youre also more then welcome if you want to participate in the maraude, just send me a message and we will get in touch with details etc :)
If you do have clothes that you want to donate, you can bring them to GreenPlace Grow Shop in Esch/Alzette. Ill try to pick them up at your place if you cant bring them to us :)

Since my previous post, I have accepted the offer in Esch Sur Azlette.
At the beginning, I intended to find a flat in Esch since I'm third word country. However, I saw in the website of Guichet that if I legally reside in France, I can work in Lux as frontalier travailler.
So, my plan now is to find a place in Thionville due to tight budget.
Since I don't have a cars so l can only commute to work by Train or Bus only.
Can you guys give me a glimpse about the town and also the commuting from Thionville to Esch ?
Or is there another better town close to Esch to live ?
I search the web and people said that it's boring. However, I'm not so into night club or bar, eating out once a week is fine for me, and I prefer cooking at home so a big super market is what I need.

So the rents seem cheaper, i see some studios for 1000 eur including bills which seems almost impossible in Luxembourg city.
In addition I have been told this area is mostly French-speaking which would really help me a lot.
Could you confirm the points above are valid? Any other advantages or disadvantages?
I just visited the Déiereschutz in Esch and I was disappointed to find that they are closed indefinitely due to COVID.
Does anybody know where I can adopt a cat? As it seems all shelters are closed.
