A list of puns related to "Disc tumbler lock"
It's really hard to get the disc detainer lockpicking tool so I wonder If there's any way to pick and is it easy to do with tumbler pin tools.
I just ordered a disc detainer pick, and I have a clear training lock that I can use it on. But I'll want to move to something more challenging soon. Does anyone have any suggestions on some beginner to intermediate difficulty locks that aren't super expensive?
Thanks!
Hey guys, not sure if this is the right place for this question but I figured I'd give it a shot. Like the title says, can I get a new key cut for a disc tumbler lock from an existing key? I have an expensive kryptonite lock for my bike and my bag was stolen with the key. Fortunately I have a spare but it's my last one and I no longer have the code to order replacements. I haven't been able to find an answer online if I can get the key copied and I haven't been able to get a straight answer from the couple of places I called. I don't wan to ride all the way over if it's a waste of time.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Greetings! I was working on the 87 Jetta Wolfsburg and wanted to share some wisdom for those who might be coming to do theirs.
Starters: put down a tarp or work in a clean organized work area, not over a straw covered barn floor.
The plastic clips that are used to attach the trim are most likely shot. Donβt over tighten them when replacing the trim pieces.
There are two trim pieces that slide over the lock/button assembly. You will have to remove all the screws from both pieces of trim and the lock/button assembly.
You will need to remove the connecting linkage from the button assembly to the trunk latch. The plastic clip bits are probably shot, and youβll need to source some or come up with a attachment method. If you come up with one, let me know.
After removing the screws from all three pieces, you will have to have the trunk open and press in the plastic clips on the interior of the lock/button mechanism to release the part.
The replacement lock button kit didnβt fit into the pieces I had for the rear trim. I am not sure if that is from deformation of the plastic or if it was a wrong year model kit that was sold to me, or if the 87 Jetta Wolfsburg Coupe just had different trim.
Because the replacement didnβt fit, I decided to remove the lock cylinder and swap them.
I instantly regretted all my life choices because the springs and pins went flying everywhere.
If you decide to remove the lock cylinder, first only remove it a very short distance and identify the diameter of the cylinder to be able to heat a close fitting sleeve to fit over the cylinder.
Reverse the process to re-install.
I have to figure out what iβm going to do for the trunk lock now, but relatively painless. I also need to order 4 of the retaining clippies.
I might be insane, but also looking into making replacement carbon fiber parts fit the pieces that break or are falling apart already.
So it looks like my Blue belt should be going through sometime this week, so i'm looking for some purple belt locks, but on the belt tier list it lists locks but doesn't say what types they are.
I'm really looking for any purple belt Pin Tumbler only locks, does anybody have any ideas of what to look for?
Edit: - I'm in the UK if that makes any difference..
Thanks :)
