A list of puns related to "Colin McLaren"
Team bosses, engineers, coaches, who are some big names in F1 history that aren't drivers?
I think most people know the big names like Adrian Newey, and Colin Chapman, but who are some other influential and important non-drivers?
F1 teams are huge operations of course, with many moving parts so a single person being the absolute key is unlikely, but some people seem to stick to success and have amazing track records.
Some names for me:
I know its maybe unusual to put Angela Cullen in here, but I honestly think she's incredible and a key part of Lewis's defining strength - composure. I can see performance coaches and sports psychologists becoming more and more of a factor in F1.

Another Edit: TL;DR a lot of teams are Ferrari.
Edits: To clarify, I am only looking at the last few years in either sport. This shit post gets way too complicated if you want to pull in anything farther back than 2015 or so. I am also a casual F1 fan so a lot of my observation is causal as well. I have also added alternate picks to where i think they apply. I had a hard time deciding if Michigan or UGa applied to Ferrari yet both work on the same level.
So F1 season is in full swing and I recently had a thread where I had a comment discussion with other CFB fans comparing F1 teams to CFB programs. I figured why not make a full post to give it a deeper comparison, so here goes. (Note to F1 fans, I am really only comparing the last 5 years or so here)

Coming into the Sakhir Grand Prix, the news ticker on Formula 1’s website is running at supersonic speeds, combing over the tidal wave of news erupting this past week.
Updates on Romain Grosjean’s recovery and the critical analysis of safety features, from the holiness of halos to the hazards of Armco; shock over Lewis Hamilton being the latest victim of a global pandemic; glee over George Russell delivering a solid enough PowerPoint presentation to earn the step up; welcoming Jack Aitken into the big league; the oddity of Sergio Perez announcing that he has yet to announce anything; the impending storm clouds over Alex Albon’s future; Nikita Mazepin’s arrival and related insights into his behaviour; and the continuation of a family legacy in Mick Schumacher’s promotion into Formula 1.
Among all that, one piece of major news that already seems to have flown right by us is the announcement of a fresh face into the paddock. It is not a surprise that Grosjean will require some time to recuperate from injuries suffered in Sunday’s race, and since Haas’ 2021 drivers cannot step away from their F2 commitments, they have named their reserve driver, Pietro Fittipaldi, as Grosjean’s deputy for this race.
Pietro, however, represents more than just a fresh face. As his surname indicates, he is a continuation of a familial legacy pivotal to Brazilian motorsport. Without the Fittipaldis, we would probably never have seen other Brazilians in Formula 1. Furthermore, Pietro is the first third-generation driver in Formula 1, marking the Fittipaldis as the most enduring family in Formula 1, with four drivers, one team, and 50 years in the sport.
So, as we step into Sakhir, we should look back at the five Fittipaldis and the legacy they have left so far and will now continue building, not just for their family, but to Formula 1 and motorsport overall.
If you are cognizant of F1 history, you probably just did a double take. Five F1 Fittipaldis? But there are only four drivers — Em

2007 was the first full year after two major consoles released – the Wii and PlayStation 3 in November 2006, with the Xbox 360 releasing in November 2005. Parallels can be made to 2021, with two major consoles also releasing the November prior – the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in November 2020, with the Switch releasing in March 2017. 2014 would’ve been the eighth generation version, and while it did have some great games (Shovel Knight, The Evil Within, Mario Kart 8, etc.), I think most would agree 2007 was more impactful.
To give a better frame of reference for this period in time, here were some of the things going on in 2007 outside the gaming industry: Apple had rolled out their first iteration of the iPhone, American Idol was the #1 show on Cable TV, George W. Bush was president of the United States, Blockbuster still existed, MySpace was still relevant, The Simpsons finally got their movie, J.K. Rowling released the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter saga, The Oprah Winfrey Show was still on the air, YouTube was only two years old and wasn’t really utilized by businesses yet, and in the U.S. you could get a mortgage 10x your annual salary.
I’m going to do a write-up for most of the notable games released in 2007, though some will be left out due to the 40,000 character limit. The 2007 window is based on North American release dates. Release dates between different regions varied more back then, with some Japanese titles releasing months or sometimes even years later in the West. That said, North American release dates at this time usually coincided with European release dates as well. There were also more region-locked games during this time that never made it to the West. The most notable example from 2007 is Elite Beat Agents 2, although the first game did see a localized release.
#The Consoles and Handhelds of 2007
Your choice of console in 2007 was a lot harder to determine compared to now. The Wii, PS3, and X360 all had noticeable benefits and shortcomings. The Wii promised innovative new experiences with an unconventional controller at a cheap price point. However, the potential of motion controls to deliver a better experience was uncertain at the time, and it suffered in the graphics department, which was much more noticeable back then when compared with the HD consoles of its time. The X360 had a robust library of games due to being on the market longer, but the Red Ring of Death was a massive problem

Well friends, Round 7 is over and out, and starting off the top, reality gets stranger by the day as Melbourne successfully warded off the Kangaroos to become the last of the undefeated teams, and the end reward is they're sitting on top of the ladder for the first time in 16 years.
Round 3, 2005 was the last time the Dees sat in 1st after they knocked off Geelong at the MCG..... In fact, it was so long ago that when they sat on top, the Cats' premiership drought was longer than theirs.
How time flies.
Anyway, here's the brief summaries before the LOL:
Unbeaten Bulldogs no match for Ramadan-mode Bachar Houli
Collingwood lose to a team most Victorian commentators have never heard of
Jesse Hogan kicks as many goals as the Crom on his Giants debut
Welcome to St Kilda, where you're guaranteed a 10-goal result either way
Port stage a dramatic Prison Bars protest at the Gabba by playing like Collingwood
The ghost of Nick Davis possesses Tom Papley and gets Sydney over the top of the Cats
To paraphrase a certain Fox Footy commentator, Melbourne win in Van Diemen's Land
Team that lost to Collingwood defeats team that defeated Collingwood in highest scoring game of the year
Merciful McGowan makes sure Dockers fans aren't first hand witnesses to another Derby defeat
LOL Of The Week: Well, there was plenty of worthy candidates this week, from the Bulldogs key forwards proving as reliable as an early 2000s McLaren, Collingwood need a long overdue LOL nomination, South Australia in general, that umpire who had no idea how to calculate 15 metres, Mark McGowan for waiting until Sunday morning to realise 45,000 people was a public health risk....
But instead of any of them, I'm giving it to PORT ADELAIDE, FOR SPENDING THE ENTIRE BLOODY WEEK WHINGING ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO WEAR THAT PISSY LITTLE PRISON BAR GUERNSEY, ONLY TO RESEMBLE COLLINGWOOD BY NOT TURNING UP AT THE GABBA.
YOU WANTED PRISON BARS, WELL HERE'S A LOL INSTEAD.

"I've been a comedian for 17 years and 7 years ago I started interviewing scientists as I travelled. Psychedelics first got me curious about how the mind works and mental health issues. I put together a 111 City Tour called "A Good Trip" in 2016-17 that combined my love of science, comedy, and psychedelics. Brian and Matt made a documentary about my life at that time called called ‘Psychonautics: A Comics Exploration of Psychedelics’. Life is the strangest and I find it endlessly fascinating."
This is a pre-Bicycle Day celebration! "What is Bicycle Day?" you ask. It's the day a certain subset of society celebrates the creator of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, Albert Hoffman, taking the first intentional "trip" on LSD April 19th, 1943.
We will be answering questions about our documentary, Bicycle Day, Psychedelics or any of our other work. Here's a Psychonautics origin story video I recorded real quick to get you up to speed if you'd like, but please ASK US ANYTHING!
#EDIT! We are officially ending the AMA but this was so much fun that I am going to take a break and try to finish all the questions that I couldn’t type fast enough to answer.
For my very first AMA I thought this went really well. I’m looking forward to my next one in May with Dr. Peter McGraw.

There’s this bit in the S-1 for people wondering about conflicts of interest: We are not prohibited from pursuing an initial business combination with a company that is affiliated with our sponsor, executive officers or directors, or completing the business combination through a joint venture or other form of shared ownership with our sponsor, executive officers or directors.
Some people are saying they want a SJW company but do not think that’s necessarily the case. The SPAC already has a very diverse team made up of 100 percent Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) and has a female majority. Maybe their objective is to put a new face on McLaren while taking into consideration social issues.
They can figure out a way to do this with Omar Johnson as their marketing genius. They have other good people on the team but this one stood out to me. Check this guy out: formerly CMO of Beats by Dre and VP of Marketing at Apple. Throughout his career, Mr. Johnson has led all facets of marketing, ranging from brand development and positioning, to advertising and global digital marketing. Under Johnson’s tenure, Beats grew from $20 million to a $2.0 billion dollar category leader, becoming the #1 premium headphone in over 25 countries, which led to the subsequent purchase by Apple for $3 billion in 2014. Adweek named Mr. Johnson a “Brand Genius,” and Business Insider named him one of the “Most Innovative CMOs” in 2016. Additionally, Mr. Johnson has worked on hundreds of winning marketing cam

I don't think I'm the only one that has had this feeling, especially after watching many of Dougs videos. Somebody mentioned "model fatigue" and it struck a note.
In the modern age there are dozens of Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, 911 etc models. With new ones constantly coming out. They all practically do the same thing with misc gimmicks that aren't really revolutionary game changers.
This reminded me of how the smart phone cell phone revolution was in comparison to how it is today.
Back in the day, iPhone was king with Droid being a little behind. New models would come out with distinct names (for iPhones) and distinct obvious features and advantages in size, camera, storage etc.
Fast forward to today and now there are a dozen different phone models from many manufacturers with no obvious advantages, similar specs and each one having it's own gimmicks that we realistically don't use in our every day lives. Smart phones have essentially peaked and market demands gimmicks in order to keep selling new units.
With obvious exceptions of extreme cars such as Ferrari Monza, new supercars all seem to be the same thing. Superfast (sub 3 second 0-60), great on the track, some kind of aggressive design, 200mph top speed and a few gimmicky features and random compromises and sacrifices, with different limited availability.
I can appreciate these cars, but my allegiance lies in my flair with the Colin Chapmans moto of "simplify, then add lightness" which is lost in modern cars due to market forces and government regulations.
Edit: lmao @ headphone jack tagging. Real talk about real problems.
