A list of puns related to "Circumstantial speech"
Maybe the stereotyped is like repeating words?? But what about the others??
I want to help my psychiatrist refine my diagnosis but I have no idea if this criterion applies to me so please explain to me with examples preferrably. Thanks!
People with social anxiety tend to become silent and unresponsive or suddenly acquire a stutter or other speech impediment when they encounter an unfamiliar social interaction, but I'm in the minority of social anxiety sufferers who ramble about barely related topics once drawn into a conversation. This is called circumstantial speech.
For example, at checkout lines in grocery stores, if the cashier mentions something about the vintage sodas in my cart, I will start talking about how my elderly great uncle used to collect bottle caps from soda bottles. I think my mind does this because it is attempting to negate any possibility of awkward silence during the checkout process.
It is very annoying because when I leave the store, I ruminate about the conversation for hours and berate myself for sounding like an incoherent and scatterbrained doofus. I have to consciously avoid small talk at the register, sort of like voluntary mutism. Does anyone else do this kind of thing?
I am reading Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn (Era 1). One thing that really annoys me about it is that the world is eerily devoid of animals.
If a fantasy story is set in a world that's almost like ours, this isn't much of a problem. A Song of Ice and Fire, for example, is "realistic" enough that I can safely assume there are rats, crows, spiders and tardigrades without having them explicitly pointed out. (And Martin does mention a lot of animals anyway.)
Mistborn is set in a dystopian hellscape where the sun is red and ash falls from the sky. It is not at all clear to the reader what the local fauna is like. And it's virtually never mentioned. In the whole first book, the only normal animals that physically appear are domestic horses. And I think maybe rats were mentioned in a figure-of-speech, but we didn't see an actual rat. Now I'm nearing the end of book 3. We've seen dogs and goats, and I have gleaned from circumstantial evidence that vipers and venomous insects exist. I would still like to know whether there are birds in this world.
This is easy to solve in a visual medium like a comic - you just quietly draw the occasional pigeon and lizard and some cobwebs. In a novel, that's harder.
For all I know, the ash rain might have wiped out birds and many arthropods. The absence of animals in Mistborn is really eerie to me.
Sanderson's other big series, Stormlight Archive, explicitly features several fantastic kinds of animals (cremlings, skyeels), which helps makes that world feel more alive. And it is made clear that few Earth animals exist on Roshar.
Remember, authors, mention some animals! Or, if they really aren't there, leave good hints so the reader can figure it out.
EDIT: There is also a hog in book 3!
Part I
Throughout the storied history of planet Earth, countless species in the animal kingdom have battled malicious viruses and bacterial strains; all with varying degrees of success. While these microscopic invaders wreaked havoc on the hostβs embattled immune system, it did so without support or assistance from any other microscopic species. In essence, we were often able to overcome these internal attacks because they came from only one pathogen at-a-time.
We βknewβ they were primitive life forms; wholly incapable of complex mental function, or self-awareness. Any empirical evidence to the contrary wouldβve suggested a significant level of sentience we werenβt willing to entertain. The human race was so fixated on its perceived βsuperiorityβ, that we refused to consider the possibility of species outside the animal kingdom being able to communicate with different life forms too. Our scientific community and religious leaders assured our fragile little egos that humanity is unique.
βOnly we can communicate with each other in a meaningful way.β; They told us. We thought of these one-celled parasites attacking our bodies as unthinking, mindless βgermsβ intellectually unaware of their own existence, or the greater world outside the body of their hosts. Those βfactsβ made us feel important and special but they were recently proven very wrong.
In a surprising level of collaboration that went initially undetected, the viral and bacterial kingdoms started attacking their human hosts in a deliberate, calculated fashion. This highly unusual partnership was unlike anything weβd experienced before. Their tandem attacks meant that previously developed natural immunity or lab vaccines only had a minimal impact.
Deaths spiraled globally from what was previously curable conditions. This hidden disease alliance led the leading virologists astray because they were still targeting specific strains. Besides offering malicious pathogens safety in numbers and greater gene variety, their united front afforded them unparalleled resistance to what had been our most effective treatment options.
There was also the devastating effect of natural evolution as a bringer of beneficial adaption. In βcomparing notesβ and sharing their inherent biological strengths via reproduction, it allowed the rise of super strains produced through organized cross-breeding. Even the βcommon coldβ mutated. It was able to weaponize itself tenfold against thousands of years of mammalian re

One that isn't funny, nor interesting, with a half baked personality, backstory, and traits. One that just irks you more than actually goads you on to find the truth. One not as sarcastic as Blackquill, as nostalgic as Edgeworth, or as dark as Godot.
And its a bloody monk.
The monk in question, is one Nahyuta Samdahahi. Nahyuta Samadhi? Wait. Nahyuta Sahdmadhi. Yes. One Nahyuta Sahdmadhi. Nahyuta is a prosecutor that has two or three moments in SOJ, and yet, cannot establish his position for the rest of the game. At all. I have never seen such an incompetent prosecutor in all my time traversing abroad as one myself.
Currently, there are two pieces of evidence that the accused has in his record that could enable him to get a verdict that is something other than the blazing words of "GUILTY". The defendant has the following moments in SOJ that shine brighter than the rest: In 6-2, where he states that he goes down to the pasta shop to eat American food for the case; And in 6-4, where he states all forms of rakugo storytelling and the story they represent. These are, unfortunately, the only two pieces of evidence that Nahyuta has in the court record, and currently, I doubt even the legendary attorney Wright could save him now. This is his death knell.
Nahyuta feels like an extremely generic prosecutor. His monk background is given no description, his BEADS contrived, his personality nonexistent. Do you seriously expect me to laugh if a guy just throws beads at people and does some kame hame ha and then the person shouts in pain? I am religious, but that takes it too far, I say.

No, that's not what I meant! No - I meant it in a different context -
The prosecution will avoid making such jabs in the future or they shall be bestowed upon a penalty.
*sigh* That's really not what I meant, but very well, Your Honor. Let me continue.
I need not give any specifics as to why Nahyuta is a blathering, blithering, blatant and blank attempt to conjure up a prosecutors in the same ranks of those who came before him. At that point in her show, I was supportive of the whole no body shaming movement, until I saw who she invited to participate with her. Burn victims, people missing limbs, and people with physical disabilities. Basically, people who CANNOT change their current circumstance or body. As a person who cares for someone with an intellectual disability, I was extremely offended and turned off by Whitney victimizing herself. She's comparing her massive weight gain (that she blames on PCOS) to people who were either born with their disability or developed it after an extremely circumstantial event.
Lastly, in season 3, Whitney was invited back to her college to give a speech about No Body Shame. During the talkback portion, a young man spoke about his struggles being overweight and how he lost his father due to morbid obesity. He was asked Whitney if her movement was encouraging people towards an unhealthy lifestyle in the long run and Whitney basically responded with "You can be fat and healthy, it just depends on the person. Sorry about your dad..." like bruh.
In season 6, Whitney was invited to the No Barriers summit in NYC. I was happy to see her teaching a dance class to differently abled people and seeing the smiles that came from the audience when they got to move around was great. BUT. She had a speech before hand in which she looked into an audience and told them "I'm a fat dancer and that's my struggle." NO. Whitney can lose weight but a person can't grow back a limb or automatically regain their sight or hearing. I have seen the struggles a real disability provides and I've seen the struggles being fat provides. The difference is, you CAN lose weight.
Overall, I haven't been able to find a reason to support Whitney's version of No Body Shame. Each time she says "As a fat person" or "As a person of size," I feel like she loves feeling like a minority. I'm a black woman who is curvy. I have never been thin, I have a learning disability, as well as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I do not want nor do I expect the world to stop and have sympathy for me. I have lost weight, I continue to work out, and I have studied/worked my ass off to get where I am now. People like Whitney really make me sick and I hope one day she realizes how much potential she has to actually make a positive change instead of convincing herself that being fat

Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. An article with the title βHow Nida-ul Nasser Proved the Greatness of Ahmadiyya Khilafat'' has been posted on Medium by someone named βAbdul Azizβ. It is an effort to tarnish Ms. Nidaβs public image and glorify the Khalifa. It tries to build a case against Ms. Nida and also goes on to highlight the supreme position of the Khalifa, discussing the question of infallibility of the Khalifa, what baiβat is, and what a maroof decision means. In my opinion these are just clever narratives to enslave believers to a level that they abandon reasoning and do whatever their religious head says. This level of devotion is the key to produce extremists who just wait for the command of their leader to fulfill his wishes without asking any question. I will leave the critique on this narrative for another time and will only focus on Ms. Nidaβs case and the misleading narrative that has been created to disillusion the public.
All the sections/categories in Medium article will be dismantled in my response:

Mr. Aziz took time to write a lengthy article, communicating as a believing Ahmadi what he thinks of this case. For a person who is not an employee or a representative it is a huge thing, especially considering that the Jamaβat can shift its narrative anytime. This case was quite famous in Canada, probably moreso for the wrongful conviction of Steven Truscott and the ensuing court battle than the murder itself.
However, it is interesting to note that he was both convicted and exonerated primarily by the time of Harper's death as inferred through examination of her stomach contents, and how expert medical opinions were challenged over decades, ultimately leading to a better understanding of how and why stomach contents are not a reliable indicator of time of death.
There are a great many differences between the Ramsey case and the Harper case, many of the problems in Harper's case came from the fact that the justice system was overeager to punish the only suspect it had (EDIT: I'm leaving this in, but, in retrospect I'm shocked at myself for calling this a difference between the cases), but I thought the ligature strangulation of a young girl, and the subsequent investigation that hinged on her stomach contents had some relevance here, at least to inform people about the reliability of estimating times of digestion.
(also, bizarre coincidence alert: there's controversial pineapple in this case, too, because of course there is)
For those unfamiliar with the case (from Steven Truscott's Wikipedia page):
>On June 9, 1959, Lynneβthen 12 years of ageβdisappeared near RCAF Station Clinton, an air force base south of Clinton, Ontario in what is now Vanastra (roughly 80 kilometers north of London). Two days later, on the afternoon of June 11, searchers discovered her body in a nearby farm woodlot. Harper had been raped and had been strangled with her own blouse.
>
>Steven Truscott and Harper had been classmates in a combined grades 7/8 class at the Air Vice Marshal Hugh Campbell School located on the north side of the Air Force base. In the early evening of Tuesday, June 9, 1959, Truscott had given Harper a ride on the crossbar of his bicycle and proceeded from the vicinity of the school northwards along the County Road. The timing and duration of their encounter, and what happened while they were together, have been contentious issues since 1959.

Long ago we were friends
For a time
We helped each other feel happier
Growing up's hard enough
She never really knew her mother
When she shed a tear, inside I shed a tear
Oh boy, the mystery of love
I will never forget
Holding her spirits high
So sweetly
She always reached out for a friend
Inside She felt so lonely
I could only feel sorry
Notice the loneliness within me also
Feel happy for helping her
Oh boy, the mystery of love
I will never forget
Long ago we were friends
For a time
We helped each other feel happier
One day I felt different
Cupid had struck
Realized she'd might not feel the same
""OH BOY"" she said LoL
Inside I melted away like a snowman
Lost a part of me
But grew a bigger heart
She never knew all, for I never told her
Oh boy, the mystery of love
For a time each felt happier
For a time she appreciated her friend
Truly she knew I cared
Truly I was not the one
Truly I was broken
Truly I love her
Oh boy, the mystery of love
To fall for a friend
How can it be love
I understood how she felt
We parted in peace & silence
Years later I tell her all
First ignored, then brushed off
In a loss of dignity
Words can't describe my sadness
Just wanted to say
Hi to my old friend
And confess
Oh boy, if I made a fool of myself
Forgive me
Don't you know love?
How can you brush me away
Remember my compassion
U with such a big heart yet clouded in someway
I can only forgive
Try to understand you
Believe in the sweetness of the soul I knew
The tears I felt
I despise in myself the part that failed
My indirectness
My circumstantial speech (big mouth syndrome)
The ugly boy with a big heart
Oh boy
I'd rather be an ugly boy with a big heart
Then a handsome boy with no heart!
For her
Greater than anything
I always hoped for someone
For her to know love
Guess she never found out?
Oh boy
We'll all leave here some day
I hope we'll understand each other
Oh boy the mystery of love
I'll never forget my friend Huff-n-Puff
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
When people attempt to defend Jackson they highlight the lack of evidence of the sexual abuse itself to completely dismiss the allegations against him. They also highlight the fact that he had been acquitted in the gavin arvizo trial, as if it were an impossible triumph. This same speech is repeated by his PR Team, who benefit from the little knowledge that people have about child sexual abuse and from the failures of the legal system in this type of cases. According to them, to be able to speak you need to have proof or else you have to shut up.
The truth is: It's unusual to have irrefutable physical evidence in cases of child sexual abuse. And that ultimately ends up being an advantage for the accused and a disadvantage for the victim, since in trials the burden of proof to prosecute someone has to exceed the standard beyond a reasonable doubt. American law is governed by a doctrine that says: βthe law holds that it is better that 10 guilty persons escape, than that 1 innocent suffer (innocent person be convicted).β
In short, an accusation without irrefutable evidence may harm the accused's reputation, but it will be a legal benefit for him/her.
We must bear in mind that we aren't discussing a murder or assault; we are facing a case of child sexual abuse through grooming, a crime that occurs in private, usually without witnesses and in many cases with the complicity of the victim. Statistically, child sexual abuse and sexual harassment cases are hard to win in criminal trials. Most of the cases that appear to be the most successful are those that are unfortunately carried out in combination with another crime such as drugging, physical assault, and cases in which the victims are murdered.
The abusers benefit from the fact that this crime is in this way, that is why in many cases the defendant is found not guilty.
>Child sexual abuse (CSA) cases are notoriously difficult to prosecute. Medical evidence is available in less than 5% of the reported cases of CSA and the prosecution often must rely on the testimony of a child.

I love this show but we all agree the last episode was..... Not great. So here's is what I wish had happen.
So first ditch the ketamine retcon, keep it as M99 in the past. Ok so now Molly's podcast, she mentions she doesn't think it was Daokes but someone else in the Miami metro, but she never mentions why besides the weird death and she thinks they wanted to end the search right away. Well in my version she has one more piece of evidence. She knows about the M99 and puts together that the ones with easier access of m99 would be those on the analysis team.
Ok so now continue the show like normal, Angela finds out Jim isn't Jim but Dexter, Dexter reveals he was a blood analysis at Miami Metro. Things play out normal going forward, then she learns how Dexter went after the drug guy, learns about the poke and the mark left. That's very weird but nothing major I guess, but then learns about the other drug guy, same mark but with Ketamin in his system. Ok now this is getting weird she thinks. She listens to Molly's podcast again and catches the part on why she thinks the BHB and catches the M99 part and how she thinks it was someone on the analysis team. Wait, "Jim" just told her he was on that very team. There's to much coincidences but things haven't fallen into place, it's still just a gut feeling. She finds out how Dexter got some Ketamin and thinks if there was no M99 around, wouldn't Ketamine be the next best thing? Still not enough though.
Then the fire happens and Angela finds the screw which match the ones left in the note. Oh shoot Dexter is now a suspect for the murder of Matt. She brings him in, questions him, what he says makes sense but she can't shake this hunch she has. That's when she reaches out to Barista. The scene plays out as normal and we see the folder from LaGuerta. Batista says he will be there the next morning. Then the scene ends there.
Cut to the next morning, Dexter still locked up but not worried because he knows this is all circumstantial. Angela walks in and says he has a visitor. He's expecting Harrison but NO ITS BATISTA! Dexter is shook, Batista is shocked! So any questions so many emotions, Batista is left speechless for awhile and then ask, why? Why fake his own death, why leave? Dexter doesn't answer but instead ask why he's here. Batista's responds with "to convince myself this isn't true" and holds up the folder.
They go into a room, Batista, Angela, and Dexter with Logan watching in the other room. They are ques

With all the GFP hype on the forum, I thought I would take a minute to remind everyone that ONLY two Zodiac suspects ever interjected themselves into the case and those two people are Arthur Leigh Allen and Donald Lee Cheney. Regardless of who your suspect is, you cannot deny this fact or the fact that the ONLY instance of the Zodiac crosshair symbol and the name Zodiac appearing together was on ALA's Zodiac Sea Wolf wristwatch. These are two huge coincidences and sometimes I think we need to remember to stick a little closer to the known facts of the case and the individuals who were suspected/involved early on.
Arthur Leigh Allen: Turned onto and questioned by LE very early and supposedly admitted he had bloody knives in his vehicle and had planned to be at Lake Berryessa on the day of the Hartnell/Shepard stabbings. Also apparently later wrote a letter to inspector Toschi saying, "Sorry I wasn't your guy...".
Donald Lee Cheney: Was the person who came forward to LE with longtime friend Sandy Panzarella and gave them the whole story of Allen creating the Zodiac persona during a New Years Day conversation in 1968. His accusations are incredible and if you have not heard what this guy says, just watch the mini documentary, His Name Was Arthur Leigh Allen. I was actually turned onto this individual because of his story and his speech/mannerisms, etc.. in his interviews. If anyone close to the case was directly involved, this guy had something to do with it. He has told people that he gave ALA a thumbprint in paraffin wax AND that he licked stamps for him! Why in the world would anyone do that unless they were trying to explain why their DNA or print MIGHT come up in the Zodiac investigation?!
The circumstantial evidence on these two individuals having been involved in some way, either separately or together, is just incredible when compared to nearly any other suspect in this case. I don't think any LE department has a valid Zodiac DNA profile, please correct me if I am wrong, so I still don't see how either can be ruled out definitively until we do. Just wanted to throw this out there to the wolves. :)

Disclaimer - I'm just a newbie and I'm still learning. I have read and seen a lot of stuff both here and in real life, so I thought I'd compile a post with the best tips I've come across; Particularly for those like me who may fall somewhere on the autism spectrum, or just didn't have this type of stuff "click" with them growing up. I actually got called charming/charismatic a couple of times (despite average looks) so I figured I'd share what I found to be the best advice I've gotten. This is either behavior I've read, done, or seen done by likable/confident men that I've tried to replicate and work into my interactions.
This is maybe the most common advice given (eye contact), but for good reason. The importance of listening skills and eye contact cannot be understated. For years and years I was the guy not able to hold eye contact with anyone, let alone girls I found attractive. I would also be too jumpy and cut people off in conversation (without even meaning to be rude) just because I was nervous.
Ever had a conversation with someone who does this, though? It sucks. Nobody wants to converse with someone who just wants to hear themselves talk. So, DON'T DO THAT. If she's talking, be an active listener, stfu, and look her dead in the eyes. You can also gauge her interest if she's looking back in your eyes or not. That alone was one of my biggest takeaways from upping my eye contact. For some reason, as "easy" as this is, I see a lot of guys suck at it, and I can tell when a guy knows what he's doing or not.
Real life example: I got a job at a big store a couple of years ago, around the time I started reading up on seduction because I was so pathetic with it. I decided to practice my eye contact with everyone there (considering the volume of the store), but particularly the girls my age who worked there. This actually worked so well in a couple of cases that a couple of the girls got crushes on me and/or I just generally found them talking to me a lot over other people. I really trace it to the eye contact and listening as that was the biggest change I made.
This is another huge one and something I didn't really understand until I tried it myself. I used to always put off teasing as pointless, but it's honestly so effective in getting interest and having a fun conversation. Always being "nice" and super agreeable isn't as exciting and drys up pussy l

So I was discussing with a very devout and honest Ahmadi friend about the story of Fakhruddin Multani, an Ahmadi who was murdered in Qadian by an Ahmadi Aziz Ahmad for "blaspheming" against the second Khalifa (alleging immoral conduct). This Ahmadi was honest enough to admit this was seemingly wrong and has been doing research to find out more. His assertion is that it was not ordered by the Khalifa himself, but it appears that there are clear provocative speeches leading to this murder.
I also sent him this piece of history; Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur's letter to Commissioner Lahore dated Aug 11, 1937.
βI described the recent events at Qadian briefly in my last fortnightly report and am now, after spending yesterday at Qadian, sending you a fuller report and appreciation of the situation.
The trouble, as you know, started with the ex-communication of two prominent members of the Ahmadiyya community, Abdur Rahman Misri, Head Master of the Ahmadiyya High School, and Fakhar-ud-Din Multani who were dissatisfied with the leadership of the present Khalifa and had begun to agitate against him. Their published allegations are that he is a man of bad personal character, but they have not publicly given instances of his alleged immorality. In actual fact, the most important definite instance alleged is that the Mirza Sahib as had an immoral connection with the son of Abdur Rahman Misri. I cannot, of course, say whether there is any truth in this, but Misri told me the story privately with a wealth of circumstantial detail, and he has certainly got a number of persons to believe him. The Mirza Sahib attributes his defection to jealousy and personal ambition. The split is of profound importance to the Ahmadiyya community, because although at present only about a dozen persons have followed the seceders, it is believed that if there was no interference of intimidation from the Khalifite party, a large number of persons, perhaps about 100, would follow Abdur Rahman Misri. It is to be noted that there is no talk of renouncing the Ahmadiyya faith, but it is simply a revolt against the personality of the Head of the community.
With the publication of posters and holding of meetings on either side relations between the two parties became more and more strained. The seceders were boycotted and their houses were at first picketed. Later, the picketing was reduced to an un-obstrusive watching of the houses, the object of which was not to prevent other Ahmadis

They said this:
We have assigned a 30 percent evaluation for your major depressive disorder based on:
β’ Chronic sleep impairment
β’ Depressed mood
β’ Disturbances of motivation and mood
β’ Forgetting to complete tasks
β’ Impairment of short- and long-term memory
β’ Occupational and social impairment with reduced reliability and productivity
β’ Retention of only highly learned material
Then this:
The overall evidentiary record shows that the severity of your disability most closely
approximates the criteria for a 30 percent disability evaluation. (38 CFR 4.7, 38 CFR 4.126)
A higher evaluation of 50 percent is not warranted for a mental disorder unless the evidence
shows occupational and social impairment with reduced reliability and productivity due to such
symptoms as:
β’ Flattened affect
β’ Circumstantial, circumlocutory, or stereotyped speech
β’ Panic attacks more than once a week
β’ Difficulty in understanding complex commands
β’ Impairment of short- and long-term memory (e.g., retention of only highly learned material,
forgetting to complete tasks)
β’ Impaired judgment
β’ Impaired abstract thinking
β’ Disturbances of motivation and mood
β’ Difficulty in establishing and maintaining effective work and social relationships. (38 CFR
4.125, 38 CFR 4.126, 38 CFR 4.130)
Don't I have these symptoms for 50 percent already? or am I just bad at understanding this stuff?

I will never forget
Long ago we were friends
for a time
we helped each other feel happier
Growing up's hard enough
she never really knew her mother
when she shed a tear, inside I shed a tear
Oh boy, the mystery of love
I will never forget
Holding her spirits high
so sweetly
she always reached out for a friend
inside She felt so lonely
I could only feel sorry
notice the loneliness within me also
feel happy for helping her
Oh boy, the mystery of love
I will never forget
Long ago we were friends
for a time
we helped each other feel happier
One day I felt different
Cupid had struck
realized she'd might not feel the same
""OH BOY"" she said LoL
inside I melted away like a snowman
lost a part of me
but grew a bigger heart
she never knew all, for I never told her
Oh boy, the mystery of love
for a time each felt happier
for a time she appreciated her friend
truly she knew I cared
truly I was not the one
truly I was broken
truly I love her
Oh boy, the mystery of love
to fall for a friend
how can it be love
I understood how she felt
we parted in peace & silence
years later I tell her all
first ignored, then brushed off
in a loss of dignity
words can't describe my sadness
Just wanted to say
hi to my old friend
and confess
Oh boy, if I made a fool of myself
forgive me
don't you know love?
how can you brush me away
remember my compassion
U with such a big heart yet clouded in smoke
I can only forgive
try to understand you
believe in the sweetness of the soul I knew
the tears I felt
I despise in myself the part that failed
my indirectness
my circumstantial speech (big mouth syndrome)
the ugly boy with a big heart
Oh boy
I'd rather be an ugly boy with a big heart
then a handsome boy with no heart!
For her
greater than anything
I always hoped for someone
for her to know love
Guess she never knew?
Oh boy
We'll all leave here some day
I hope we'll understand each other
Oh boy the mystery of love
I'll never forget my friend Huff-n-Puff
Part I
Throughout the storied history of planet Earth, countless species in the animal kingdom have battled malicious viruses and bacterial strains; all with varying degrees of success.
