Communism begins at home. If your communism doesn't challenge gender hierarchy & regressive gendered practices that are inherently anti-feminist, then it's not communism.

There is absolutely no difference between anti-tankiism and anti-communism other than one word. You can't even say the former is exclusively for leftists anymore now that the right has adopted the new term as well.

Is it anti-communism propaganda that almost every depiction of a cult on mainstream tv is "vaguely communistic ideas but also we kill babies"?
I noticed this while watching riverdale (yeah i know) and there is a murder cult in the 3rd season called "the farm" and they start off by being betrayed as a communist ideals, while they dont say it, it is heavily implied. Then I started thinking about other cults and noticed this pattern. What do you guys think about this?

Books about how communism was able to rise in countries like China and Russia. Something that focuses on social, economic and political reasons rather than ideological ones. Ideally one that is objective as possible and neither pro or anti-communisim.
I've been very interested in the political climate of the 19th and early 20th century and how movements like fascism and communism came to power. The history behind the movements, the social and political forces that created them and the economic reasons of why one country went one way or another. I really found Robert Paxtons "The Anatomy of Fascism" to be enlightening on how fascism came to power and how his book did not focus on the stated ideology of fascism, but the factors I mentioned as well as the political process in which they came to power.
I realized it is hard to find books on these topics that are not partisan. It seems that most books I've seen/read a on the rise if communism are either more orthodox that tey to demonize communism or revisionist that try to lionize it. Like I said, I am more interested in how communist regimes came to power and the environment that allowed it to happen when other countries went fascist or doubled down on liberal democracy.
Thanks!

Supposed 168 page debunking of anti-communism, and the sources are awful!
For the most part, outside of the area on China, the sources of this supposed βdebunkingβ of anti-communism is simply atrocious! Does anyone else agree or disagree?

Were Japan's wars in the Pacific motivated by anti-communism?
In The Pacific War by Saburo Ienaga, he writes that the "ultimate objective of the war, including the fighting in China, remained the destruction of communism. In military and diplomatic moves, in the implicit assumptions behind policies, always the overriding goal was to eradicate communism." (84) He argues that Japan's neutrality pact with the Soviet Union was out of strategic necessity, with Japanese leaders considering the USSR as the ultimate "absolute enemy".
Was Communism truly such an anxiety for Japan's wartime and prewar leaders? Was it a danger domestically? Was international communism considered a viable threat against Japanese ambitions? Never have I heard of anticommunism as a driving force in Japanese policy.
