A38 Puns

Any brewers out there using A38-Juice as their house strain and can still make a modern, clear WCIPA? What methods do you use and what changes did you make?

We like the fermentation profile Juice has played in our hazies, obviously, but also in our stouts. We want to see if we can make a clear IPA utilizing that yeast and grab that same, rounded and fruity fermentation profile.

Is this site still a viable surface mining opportunity?

The triple overlap is still there but I've tried a few times to find the right spot for a good surface run but I haven't come across it yet. Just checking to see if its still worth it?

Ich bin Doktorand in einem naturwissenschaftlichen Fach an einer großen deutschen Uni. Bei uns geht es wie überall drunter und drüber, wir haben aber das Glück, dass wir genug Räume haben um uns für die Laborarbeit entsprechend aufzuteilen. Teil unserer Aufgaben ist das Betreuen von Studentenpraktika im Labor. Im Wintersemester starten die Erstsemester. Das sind meistens um die 70 Leute und offensichtlich geben unsere Labore es nicht her, so viele Studenten gleichzeitig unter Coronabedingungen zu betreuen. Wir haben im Fachbereich ein Konzept entwickelt, die Inhalte ein klein wenig zusammengestrichen und das Praktikum in zwei Gruppen im Januar und Februar aufgeteilt. Das ist eine Menge Mehrarbeit, also hat unsere Praktikumsleitung Gelder in die Hand genommen um uns Tutorienverträge für die Extrastunden zur organisieren. Das war im September.

Arbeitsverträge werden nicht im Fachbereich, sondern in der Univerwaltung angefertigt. Wir sind 5 Personen. Einer von uns hat als erster einen Antrag auf den Vertrag an die Verwaltung geschickt. Als Antwort kam zurück, dass wir zunächst einen Antrag auf Genehmigung der Nebentätigkeit stellen müssen, da wir ja bereits an der Uni beschäftigt sind. Das passiert in einer anderen Abteilung, bei einem anderen Sachbearbeiter. Er gibt uns die Info weiter, das ist auch kein neuer Vorgang. Wir holen uns also Unterschriften von unserem Fachbereich und schicken dann den Antrag auf Genehmigung der Nebentätigkeit an Sachbearbeiter 2. Normalerweise kommt die Genehmigung dann per Post. Das kann schon mal dauern, aber ist ja noch Zeit bis Januar.

Ein Monat später. Wir haken nach. Es gab ja nicht mal eine Eingangsbestätigung. Sind die Anträge vielleicht in der internen Post verloren gegangen? Eine Woche später kommt die Antwort, die im Prinzip sagt: "Wir haben hier nichts bearbeitet, weil noch nicht einmal ein Antrag auf Vertrag bei Sachbearbeiter 1 vorliegt". Wir erinnern uns. Sachbearbeiter 1 hat gesagt, wir brauchen erstmal die Nebentätigkeitserlaubnis. Und selbst wenn das Vorgehen falsch ist könnte man ja zumindest mal nachfragen was es soll...

Sei es drum. Es ist inzwischen Anfang November. Ist ja noch Zeit. Also schicken wir nach ein paar Telefonaten unserer Praktikumsleitung doch alle unsere Unterlagen zu Sachbearbeiter 1. Auto reply sagt "Bearbeitungszeit für Anfragen 4-6 Wochen". Ok also warten, aber sollte ja jetzt laufen.

Trying to make a orange-grapefruit crush ale with A38 Juice. I just transferred it to secondary with 1 oz dried grapefruit peel and 1 oz sweet fried orange peel with 12 oz of frozen concentrated orange juice and 12 oz frozen concentrated grapefruit juice after 10 days in primary. Do you think this could make a good brew? I’ve really only seen juice used for IPAs but I’m curious

Edit to update again: THEY CHANGED EMAIL ADDRESSES AND DIDN'T TELL ANYONE, DIDN'T SET UP ANYTHING THAT EMAILS WOULD BE REROUTED OT ANYTHING OF THE SORT! I HAVE BEEN SENDING APL MY EMAILS INTO THE VOID, AND IN THE WEEK AND CHANGE THAT WE HAVE BEEN CALLING THESE MOTHERFUCKERS EVERY DAY NOT ONE OF THEM THOUGHT OF CHECKING IF MY DICUMENTS ACTUALLY ARRIVED, OR WHAT EMAIL ADDRESS WE HAVE, CONSIDERING THEY FUCKING CHANGED IT RECENTLY I am so pissed.

Edit to update: my gérante is gonna be answering incoming calls at the town hall tomorrow, so we can call and demand an explanation from her, and tell her to get off her ass, and the person on the phone today also gave us the email address of her superior. I might actually have my ID before the end of the year.

I moved to Brussels last year. I messaged the service étranger in January (didn't have time before that). It took them 3 weeks to respond to me, and when i answered their email in English, i didn't get a response for another 2 weeks. It was early March by then. I wrote roughly the same email again, in french this time (i had help, my own french is barely good enough to make it through the supermarket checkout on my own), and actually received an answer. I explained that i am a German citizen, moved to Belgium and would like to obtain the Carte d'Identité (remember this, it becomes important later). I received "Annexe 19", my name and birthday were copied off my German ID card incorrectly, but eventually we managed to get it right. I was told i needed a job or proof that i was looking for own (so, register with ACTIRIS) and that the police were gonna come and check that i live where i said i do.

That is a completely new thing for me. In Germany, nobody checks if your address is right or not. So i didn't know how to continue. I thought that i would have to wait for the police to come by, they say "yes, she lives here" and i would receive either a provisional ID or at least instructions how to continue.

After 2 weeks of no news and no police i asked when they would come, and was simply told they were very busy. Another 4 weeks later i asked again and was only then told that they had been at my building a few days before the first email, found my name on the doorbell, and left without a word.

At that point j started realizing that i had to do everything myself, registered with ACTIRIS, messaged the mutualité, asked what i need to get financial support from CPAS while job hunting. Not sure if CAS ever go

OVERVIEW:

So I had a lot of trouble finding the 4x SSD reloggable asteroid from https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteMiners/comments/harwcl/4xssd_ltd_rock_near_center_of_ltd3hotspot_in_col/ by /u/xiba2k4

and I decided to take some screenshots and a little guide that made sense to me which hopefully is reproducible for others. We don't use star systems for orientation because of both the planet orbit and the ring orbit causes the "sky" when you are inside the ring to constantly change.

First the 50 Mm view and general orientation:

Target the middle LTD hotspot at Kirre's Icebox (Col 285 Sector CC-K a38-2 1), align your ship as in the picture, using the other hotspot locations and the planet itself to help orient you correctly. I find the little outside LTD hotspot is really useful in getting this right (it should always be in the bottom left of your screen as you fly towards the middle LTD). You want to drop right in on that middle LTD as close as possible to its origin but take care to start roughly aligning yourself to the green line shown in the picture. Once in the ring your path towards the 4x SSD asteroid will
