A list of puns related to "86th Street"
Anyone else hear that or know whatβs going on? Happened about twenty minutes ago (3:40AM) and was loud enough to wake up myself and wife who usually is a dead sleeper.
I don't pay attention to the real estate market but I was told by a relative who's a real estate agent that Bensonhurst has crazy demand because of proximity to 86th streeet and houses listed at 1.5-3 million are now being sold within a day or at most a month. I noticed that there have been a lot new stores and restaurants popping up on 86th street since a few years ago and there's also a lot more people walking around 86th street, particularly bay parkway. It also seems like most of the people moving in are chinese immigrant families, who are obviously wealthy enough to buy these houses.
It wasn't last time I checked, but it's been a while since I've been over there.
It's overdue to be finished, but I can't find any confirmation on the MTA site or social media that it was actually completed.
So I was listening to Rage Against the Machine's Self Titled (20th anniversary edition) on Spotify, and noticed that the 13th track is titled: Take the Power Back - Live at 86th Street Music Hall, Vancouver, B.C. - April 1993. Being a long-time Van resident, I was interested in where this venue was and looked it up on Google; results including articles about bands such as Wang Chung and Alice in Chains having played at the venue in the past, from Vancouver-based news sources such as straight.com, specifically mentioning our province. However, Vancouver has no 86th street, nor any current venue named 86th Street Music Hall. A quick check in Vancouver, Washington, U.S.A., and it turns out that they have an 86th street and potentially used to have (or currently has?) a music hall on the street. Further investigation shows multiple sites like songkick and pastconcerts advertising Vancouver, B.C. as the location of this 86th Street Music Hall. What is going on? Did Vancouver, B.C. steal Vancouver Washington's concert history, are these websites (and a pretty well-known album) mislabelled/mistaken? Or am I just uninformed and Vancouver, B.C. used to have a 86th Street Music Hall either named oddly or as a joke on Vancouver, WA? Where did RATM play this song!? Is social distancing going to my head? Is the moon even real? Anyways... take the power back, y'all.
I heard through the grapevine there might be. Looking to see if anyone knows anything.
A few years ago there was this little hole-in-the-wall chicken place in a strip mall near E. 86th and I-69 called π Chicken or Happy Chicken. They had these amazing spice rub crusted baked chicken wings that had just the right amount of a kick. They've since closed, and I'm looking for something similar. The wings weren't fried and they didn't have a sauce, so I'm not looking for anything you can find at most chicken or wing places. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi all,
Moving to the area soon from Philly; Looking for any good non-chain, local places to eat on 86th street within the loop...or right in that immediate area. Nothing too fancy or expensive hopefully, just a place to get a nice burger, wings, or other kind of tasty comfort food. Pizza too. We are leaving behind in Philly some good local eateries that have kind of become our favorite food hangouts, and want to hopefully find some similar kind of spots.
Thanks!
I have a budget of $25 per person for food and location (apprx 18 people). Need to be able to conduct meeting with out lots of interruptions (noise etc.). Meeting on Tuesday December 10 around 6:00 PM ish. Any help would be appreciated.
