The 868th Bombardment: The Snoopers
While cleaning out our old house for resale we came across my grandfathers discharge papers. His name was Eugene Callahan. He was part of the 868th, and all I can seem to find about them is that they took daring risks to innovate stealthier bombing techniques.
I believe he was a gunner or bombardier (more likely) because he couldn't fly. How can I find out more about his service history? I want get this book "World War II B-24 Snoopers: The Story of World War IIβs Secret Anti-Shipping Night War Against the Japanese"
So who were the snoopers and how did they change our strategies/tactics?
