Hi, I'm a foreigner, I think the proportional representation system Romania uses during elections is great. But I just have two questions:

• Is there anyway so to see a breakdown of the 'diaspora' votes? I'm curious to see if there's any large differences in how the diaspora vote depending on which country they're residing in?

• The diaspora only get four seats in parliament, but due to proportional representation and the D'hondt system, their votes will still count towards the seats that need to be allocated right?

For example, if 50% of electoral turnout was diaspora and they all voted for the same, single party - that means the allocation of seats at the end of the election would be approximately 50% to the aforementioned diaspora's party right?

Democratic Party - Blue - 163 seats

United Future Party - Pink - 84 seats

Justice Party - Yellow - 1 seat

Independents - Grey - 5 seats

As you may have noticed without proportional representation it kills what little representation minor parties already had, but the 3/5 majority the DP gained does remain with 163 seats out of 253, in fact it's more than 3/5. The Basic Income Party, and Transition Korea Party would also not come into fruition due to the platform parties to exploit proportional votes not being established.

South Korea will hold its legislative election today where all 300 seats of the National Assembly will be up for election. This megathread will be used to organize all information and discussion on the election.

#General Information

• Polls will be open from 6 AM to 6 PM.
• Election day is a national holiday.
• Legislative elections are held every four years.
• Pengsoo wants you to go out and vote!

#Background

• This will be South Korea's 21st legislative election, the first being held in 1948.
• This will be the first election where the voting age is 18. Until 2019, South Korea was the only OECD where the voting age was not 18 (previously 19).
• Being held two years after local elections and two years before the next presidential election, this election will serve as a referendum on President Moon's performance.

• South Korea has a mixed-member proportional (MMP) system, where 253 seats out of 300 will be elected using first-past-the-post voting.
• The rest (47 seats) will be elected proportionally.
