Theae 5 starters were Detroit's starting rotation from July-October 2014, and failed to win the World Series. Scherzer and Porcello left for Washington and Boston in the offseason, Price was traded to Boston mid-2015, Verlander was famously traded in 2017, and Anibal Sanchez was a walking corpse before resuscitating his career in Atlanta in 2018.
The 5 average out to 160.4 wins, 2173.8 Ks, 1.4 Cy Youngs (Sanchez is the only member who never won the award) and 43.5 career bWAR among themselves. Fangraphs actually really likes Porcello in particular a lot more than BBRef. Using fWAR, the 5 have 231.7 WAR, of 46.34/pitcher.

In 2006 they beat the Yankees and athletics to go to the world series and then again in 2012. They beat those teams 3 times a piece in their 11 playoff series in that span, never losing to either.
However they were unable to win any series against any other team. In fact, they have not beat a team in the playoffs that were not the Yankees or athletics since 1984 when they beat the Padres to win the world series.

Jerry's film documented the process by which I broke the world record for high-altitude jump in 2014 at the age of 57 when I dropped from a gas-powered balloon 135,000 feet above the earth. The plan began as a scribble on a paper napkin and took three years of working in secrecy to come to fruition. In 2011 I began working with Taber MacCallum and Jane Poynter, co-founders of Paragon Space Development Corporation, to bring the plan to life. Because a private citizen cannot simply purchase a space suit from NASA, we also worked with ILC Dover, outfitters of every United States astronaut in the Apollo program.
