Tulane had possession and was one touchdown short of upsetting #2 Oklahoma. LA Tech missed their last field goal, which would have won them the game. Tulane and LA Tech both were more focused on the team's game plan to win the game, gave a better fight, and represented Louisiana better after Hurricane Ida.
LSU is a bigger program and can recruit the state better than those Louisiana programs except that the LSU defense looked confused on the field talking to each other before the ball snapped and I was expecting a different quarterback to start the 2nd half given the quarterback 'controversy' and all. LSU felt like they were going on a field trip to Los Angeles just to get blind sighted by all the UCLA talk that they didn't play a good Hawaii team last week but chip kelly is still an offensive genius. Sure, a lot of LSU players got drafted but we didn't reload like Alabama even though we restocked through the transfer portal. I also think that the social media promo videos of the players showing confidence and swag need to be delayed until we proven ourselves on the football field to back up those statements. I'm not sure if the team even got over the 2019 championship hangover -- the fanbase, players, and coaches are still reliving those days. Now that student athletes can get paid for appearances, some are more focused on the limelight and ESPN highlight reels (like trying to strip the ball but missing the tackle and giving up a touchdown) than the team or winning.

How does Tulane and LA Tech have better quarterback development than LSU? We continue to 'go-fishing' in the transfer portal for quarterbacks who were trained better through a different program to read coverages and give out quick decisive throws than to develop our own. Garrett Nussmeier is the son of a football coach and we hope he turns out to play like Joe Burrow, who is also a son of a football coach, but it shouldn't require the quarterback to get tips from his own dad than his own program to win games (certainly, the connection and pedigree helps). UCLA was playing soft DB coverages the entire night and we co
