Arena: Home games are played in Hartfordβs XL Center, formerly the home of the Hartford Whalers and now shared with the AHLβs Hartford Wolf Pack. The XL Center also hosts UConn menβs and womenβs basketball for marquee games. The XL Center can seat a maximum of 14,750 for hockey, but usually has curtains drawn over the upper reaches of the 200βs level that reduces the functional capacity to 9,801. In 2019-20, UConn ranked 20th among DI programs in average attendance. During the 2020-21 season with games closed to the public, the menβs team rejoined the women at the on-campus Freitas Ice Forum. Ground was broken in May on a new on-campus hockey arena scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2022. The new arena is planned to seat 2,700 fans in its role as the full-time home of the womenβs team and non-conference venue for the men. The yet-to-be-named facility will finally allow hockey players to get their on-ice and off-ice training accomplished under the same roof.

Rivals: UConn is one of those programs still building strong in-conference rivals due to being a recent addition to Hockey East and its strongest rivals in other sports not having D1 hockey programs; but for the sake of having something, here it goes...
Providence: The Huskies and the Friars first gained unpleasant familiarity in the Big East, and now that UConn has returned its non-hockey programs to the conference, Providence is the only school which shares its full conference membership with UConn.
UMass: Proximity matters, and the drive between the XL Center and the Mullins Center can be made in just under an hour. UMa
