In The Big Lebowski (1998), Jesus Quintana is wearing rings from the American Bowling Congress that certify his ability to roll a perfect 300 game, a 299 game and an incredibly difficult 800 series. Those rings tell you that creep can roll.

[PC][1998] Indie EXE freeware developer, gory games with pre-rendered South Park esque graphics? Chicken killer, talkshow frenzy?
Hey all. This is a long shot, since it isn't a real game, but instead a lost part of the internet...
Around 1999, I was downloading pretty much anything off of AOL. I remember a guy had a site he made games on (we didn't call it indie devs back then). They were EXEs you downloaded, real jenky games. This guy had a particular style: the characters were South Park-esque, like flat and shot straight-on, but they were pre-rendered out of very basic shapes to give a shiny look. All of his games looked like this.
I remember a few of his games...
-
Some sort of "kill a bunch of chickens" game where they attacked you. They'd explode into pieces and tons of blood.
-
Talkshow fighting game. Basically, think Jerry Springer, and you'd select all sort of racist caricatures (like a KKK guy, a black woman, etc.) and beat each other with similar gore.
This was right around the time also of Elf Bowling on Windows and that era of schlock.
Anyone remember this random developer and his odd creations? Thanks!

Movies that explore existential angst of family/relationships like Happiness (1998), American Beauty, or Anomalisa? I thought Happiness was interesting, both bleak and funny in how it explored the disturbing elements of American suburbia. I really like Charlie Kaufman movies, so besides his, others like Anomalisa which are existential and poignant in an extremely awkward way...thank you (I'm considering Magnolia if anyone would second that)

Opinions on an AC Game set on the South American Wars of Independence?
I Always thought that it could be an incredibly interesting setting for a game, most of the leaders have ideologies that could easily fit in both the Templars and Assassins. It could either be set on Bolivar's Campaigns or on the Southern Wars of Independence with people like JosΓ© de San MartΓn, Bernardo O'Higgins, Jose Miguel Carrera, and other members of The Lautaro Lodge.
Although I'm not sure it would fit Ubisoft's current style with vast open worlds and with the (honestly pretty lame) new parkour system, cities like Caracas, Lima, Santiago, or Buenos Aires would fit incredibly well with the older style of games, with a heavy emphasis on parkour.
This is just my opinion though and I wanted to see if you guys had any thoughts about a setting there.

[TOMT][ANIME] Childrenβs anime, a series I think, that aired on American television some time between 1998-2005
It took place in a world like shinzo or monster rancher. I only remember a small, round, blue creature who was a good guy and might have transformed into something bigger for fights. For some reason I associate him with the word βbubblegum,β like that was his name or he used to say it when he attacked someone. He had a friend who was similar to him, and there may have been many more creatures.
I also remember a scene when a woman, some kind of villain or princess, is sitting in a desert and servants are fanning her with huge leaves.
Thanks for any help

Can someone explain the whole WC Qualifiers fiasco? Laliga has postponed Barca-Sevilla game due to South American WC qualifiers but not our game vs Celta.
English FA has decided to not allow south american players to leave for WCQ matches due to red list countries quarantine requirement of 10 days.
https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/edinson-cavani-to-stay-with-man-utd-after-uruguay-call-up-cancelled
Laliga earlier reported something similar about not letting south american players to leave due to the extra 2 days taken by CONMEBOL
https://www.laliga.com/en-GB/news/on-laligas-meeting-with-clubs-affected-by-the-fifa-international-match-calendar
But now I see that Laliga has lost their appeal in CAS against this and have therefore postponed 2 matches (Villareal-Alaves and Sevilla-Barca) indefinitely and moved some other games by only 1 day. Real Madrid was initially supposed to play on Saturday at 4:15pm CEST but now have been shifted to Sunday 9pm CEST.
https://www.laliga.com/en-GB/news/official-statement-matchday-4
Looking at the schedule of Brazil and Uruguay, they play their final game on thursday. We have 4 players called up (Casemiro, Militao, Vinicius and Valverde) whereas Barca only has Araujo called up. Any idea why is this the case, and we are forced to play 2 days after the int'l matches where 4 of our potential starters will likely miss the game?
