A list of puns related to "1990 Fiba World Championship"
Someone tried to make a game thread in r/nba but mods deleted it π
Figured there would be better conversation about the game here with people who actually know these prospects.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Been watching a lot of Fiba and Gilas content lately. After that disappointing performance last year at the 2019 world cup(we were winless and 4/5 losses we got destroyed by like 20 points or more), but in 2023 we will be one of the host countries!
So yeah, Hopefully we win some games there and beat both China('cause you know) and Australia(the brawl from 2018) maybe win a medal(fingers crossed). Did you know that we are the only Asian country to ever reach the medal round in the tournaments's history. Gonna watch our team and support them every game.
I know 3 years away pa, but damn! Basketball is a religion in our country diba?? Haha Laban Pilipinas and hopefully everyone is safe!
I know the international competition back then was also not as is today, but it really shows how weird it is for usa to not even medal regardless of who's not there

Just a bit of a reminder to those that still think USA is untouchable in the World Cup, anything can happen when itβs single elimination. Such as New Zealand coming out in 4th place without a single with one nba player on the roster.
I went through the FIBA cup history and didn't see any coaches who had done this before. He seems to be very composed when he's coaching, and has a strong connection with his players. When he first signed in Toronto last year, many people on here were calling him overrated as the coach of the Spanish team. I think he's proven that to be wrong, and probably deserves a head coaching job in the NBA down the line.
Hi there, I work at FIBA's communication departement. Just wanna tell you we are having free streams for the whole #FIBAU17 tournament.
Today we have the men's semifinals. Spain-Turkey (6:30PM GMT+2 & USA-Lithuania 9PM GMT+2): Here are the links: http://www.fiba.com/world/u17/2016
Don't be surprised, theses kids can ball. Check this from yesterday's action: https://gfycat.com/PlaintiveRewardingJay
This tournament revealed current NBA players (Andre Drummond, Andrew Wiggins, Ben Simmons and many more) and hopefully many more: http://www.fiba.com/world/u17/2016/past-u17-stars
TLDR: Basketball during the off-season :D
Edit: watch team USA battle Lithuania now https://youtu.be/BvuAB-za9yY
The inaugural FIBA U-18 3-on-3 World Championships ended this past week with New Zealand, led by Kentucky-commit Tai Wynyard, winning the Gold over Argentina
Finals Highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0kTGrVI2Qo
Team USA finished 8th with a team led by P.J. Washington (ranked 7th in 2017 class by ESPN) and Jalek Felton (ranked 9th in 2017 and is the nephew of Raymond Felton)
The highlights of the competition are quiet fun to watch. There has been some talk of the three-on-three format being used in the Olympics.
I for one would be very interested in seeing how NBA players play under this simplified half-court format of basketball that everyone can relate to and probably plays under at their neighbourhood court.
The fewer number of players required for a three-on-three game reduces the roster depth needed for teams to be competitive and erodes the advantage that a powerhouse team like the U.S. typically has in international competition. Each team needs four registered players.
Hypothetical teams:
Team USA: LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Anthony Davis
Team Spain: Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Rudy Fernandez
Team Canada: Andrew Wiggins, Tristan Thompson, Kelly Olynyk, Cory Joseph
Team France: Tony Parker, Nicolas Batum, Boris Diaw, Joakim Noah
Team Argentina: Manu Ginobili, Luis Scola, Carlos Delfino, AndrΓ©s Nocioni
Team Italy: Andrea Bargnani, Danilo Gallinari, Marco Belinelli, Luigi Datome
Team Australia: Patty Mills, Matthew Dellavedova, Joe Ingles, Andrew Bogut
Team Dominican Republic: Francisco GarcΓa, Al Horford, Karl-Anthony Towns, Charlie Villanueva
Team Germany: Dirk Nowitzki, Dennis Schroder, Chris Kaman, +1
Would be some very competitive games!
Would you be interested in seeing three-on-three basketball played at the senior international level? Any teams I'm missing or players that you would rather have instead? Who can best challenge the U.S. in a three-on-three format?
We beat powerhouses Gibraltar, Andorra, San Marino and Malta on our way to eternal glory.
Full Disclosure: I am a Greek who has been raised in NYC since I was 4. Around the household, we're always proud of Greek sports, but we never imagined we'd beat a stacked USA team like this. I remember watching this live and going nuts in the house. I think my dad cried.
Of course, the Greeks had a near-perfect game and USA shot poorly overall, but USA lost mostly because of a lack of effort and lots of ISO ball.

Due to the rehabilitation process after injury in the past NBA season this year, unfortunately, I will not be able to perform in prequalification for the World Championship. An assessment by my club's medical team that injuries in such a condition require a careful approach and a special work program, in order to get ready for a new season in a few months. I always carried the jersey of BiH with great satisfaction and I believe it will last for many years. Unfortunately, this time has prevented me from hurting. I want all the best in the upcoming matches.
