Many folks will be attending who don't attend Elks games and don't know the ropes. Here goes:
- There will be extra LRT cars, plus ETS Park-n-Ride for $6 return. https://www.edmonton.ca/ets/events
- To get in you need to show proof of vax plus photo ID [age 12+]. You have to wear a mask until you get to your seat. No large bags or purses allowed, nothing they would have to search. Flags are ok but no flagpoles, fireworks, peanuts, air horns, llamas.
- Because of number 2. above, and all the fans new to it, expect LONG delays getting in to the stadium. If you show up right at game time, you WILL miss the first half. Gates open
90 min early2 hours prior to game time (hint, hint). They will probably have the Oiler game on the TVs in the concourses if you get in early. - Commonwealth Stadium is a giant concrete heat sink with hard plastic seats. It is cold there. Dress for -20C even if it says 0 degrees outside. Something insulating to sit on goes a long way.

The Commonwealth Games Cricket Qualifier which was held in Malaysia was not shown in TV. Only followed it from ESPN Cricinfo and news sources. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh were considered as the favorites to win the tournament and it was also meant that only one team will qualify for Commonwealth Games tournament
Unfortunately Sri Lanka failed to qualify for 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand due to the abandoning of the 2021 Women's World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe due to Omicron concerns. It was harsh on teams like Sri Lanka and Thailand to miss out on 2022 World Cup despite being in strong contention for it. The Women's World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe was abandoned midway and was not rescheduled at a later date either. Sri Lanka had just played one game in that tournament where we defeated the Netherlands and also most of SL players were unfortunate to have tested positive for COVID-19 which ruined their preparations. Sri Lanka and Thailand were robbed off entirely on ICC ranking method which was later determined to decide the teams which would compete at 2022 World Cup once the Qualifier tournament was dropped out.
The main concern is also the fact that Sri Lankan women didn't play any bilateral international series since the 2019 tour of Australia and since the 2020 Women's T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka women were not guaranteed of any international fixtures and did not play in any international matches up until the 2021 Women's 50 over World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe and that too SL only managed to play like one game. The blame and accountability should be vested on SLC for not arranging any international matches and also for not arranging adequate quality domestic matches for the women. Because of this reason, Sri Lanka was screwed of qualifying for 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup due to SL was below the threshold ranking during cutoff date.

How do we avoid literally freezing our butts off???
Apparently we can bring blankets- what's a goodú option? A sleeping bag? Are we doomed to be uncomfortable or is there a chance at getting cozy?
Edit: thanks for the abundance of helpful advice! We dressed in layers, used the chemical heat packs in our gloves and boots, and only mild issue was coldish toes. The insulated seat cushions were especially clutch!
