A list of puns related to "1913 Epsom Derby"
Quality weekend of racing ahead! Really looking forward to the Oaks, Iβm hoping ZEYAADAH proves he is the real deal (had him AntePost at 25βs π€) but itβs a competitive field and thereβs plenty to like.. Apparently the OβBrien filly Santa Barbara has come on markedly since her close 4th in the Guineas while the Dettori mount Snowfall is no donkey either. I think due to the popularity of the front 2 in the market a couple have been slightly overlooked, the likes of DUBAI FOUNTAIN held Zeyaadah previously albeit on favourable terms, but sheβs proven in pattern company and likely to be primed, well worth her place in this field. It would also be no surprise to see another big run from SAFFRON BEACH, stepping up again in trip after looking still full of running when coming home strongly for 2nd in a very close finished 1000Guineas - I think sheβll stay. Today weβll find out which horses really have Group 1 potential this year!
Iβll be posting picks throughout (more so tomorrow as Iβm working today) but to start us off Iβm backing these 5 all to make the first 4 places..
Oscula @ 14.00
Mostawa @ 14.35
Data Protection @ 15.45
Zeyaadah @ 16.30
Dulas @ 17.40
Β£10 returns around Β£230. That will give us juice for the weekend π€π½
Let me know who you guys are playing today, Best if Luck!
Bolshoi Ballet probably worthy favourite. But I fancy Mohaafeth, any thoughts?
R1 - King Frankel / King Zain EW & RF/C : Mark Johnston has a strong hand here and I actually fancy the outsider of his two. Should very much appreciate the step up in trip on breeding and has the form to go well.
R2 - Maamora : S&E Crisford have been finding form recently and this mare was a very good miler last year winning a G3 in August. Probably needed her reappearance run and this could have been the target all along. Statement is very interesting with her Fillies allowance.
R3 - Century Dream : Another from the Crisford stable, this one is absolutely the stand out performer if returning to her best. She won this race last year on her reappearance and looks targeted again.
R4 - Mondammej : I refuse to give up on this slope De Vega gelding Iβm certain thereβs a big prize somewhere for it this year, just needs a touch of good luck rather than bad.
R5 - Bolshoi Ballet WIN / Southern Lights E/W : as explained elsewhere, the OβBrien horse just looks a class above these on given form.
R6 - Soto Sizzler : Has a great course and distance record, 3 starts at this track and trip have yielded 2 wins (including this race) and a 2nd to the reopposing Group One Power. Oisin takes the ride and with the ground drying out a bit I can De Sousa trying to make all and us swooping on him at the furlong pole.
R6 - Tinto : Only one outcome I can envision to this race. Atalantas Boy, Desert Safari and Lexington all start paddling while Crowley sits absolutely motionless on Tinto, kicks at the furlong pole and wins by 4 lengths.
Best of luck to all!
Been a while since I posted on here, but i've created a preview for the Derby with a preview on all 17 runners and my (very amateur) opinion on their chances. Feedback and stuff is really appreciated! :)
