A list of puns related to "1911 World Series"
As an avid Astros fan, I take it upon myself to tear-down the Dodgers every chance I can. For that reason, I decided to look into the number of teams that have lost back to back world series. (Be prepared for intense mental gymnastics).
In conclusion, fuck the Dodgers. Let's go Astros.
Hi, friends!
I have several pistols in my carry rotation, and because of my style of carry, I tend to have the muzzle pointing at myself.
Now, my pocket carry option (Ruger LCP 2) is carried condition 1, but it's basically pointed a the ground in front of me or MAYBE at my foot. Ok. I can live with that, and I feel very confident in its sear/hammer design. It has a hammer block (though not a firing pin block), so I'm fine with the risk/convenience.
When I carry a full size gun, it is normally a CZ clone or a Beretta 92-style handgun. I'm fine with it pointing directly at my thigh because they both have multiple/overlapping safety systems making it darn near impossible for the gun to spontaneously fire. In fact, if I carry the 92, it's in DA mode with the decocker/safety on, which prevents the hammer from hitting the firing pin at all, and even if something happened to the firing pin, the block locks it into place without the trigger being pulled. Basically, nothing can happen.
Here's my dilemma:
Let's say I carry the CZ clone in condition 1. Ok, what if the hammer is released somehow. Well, the safety holds the hammer back anyway so it isn't going anywhere. But if it failed, there's a safety notch that engages if the trigger isn't pulled. But let's say that fails also! ... Well, the firing pin block - a completely separate system - keeps the firing pin from coming forward even if the hammer strikes it. So three independent systems must fail for it to fire. And that's in Condition 1! If those three safety systems aren't enough for me I can always carry it in DA if I don't mind the initial long trigger pull. And then I don't have to worry about the hammer falling because it's already down anyway. Total safety.
OTOH, I am carrying the (series 70) 1911 in condition 1. Let's say the hammer is released somehow. The safety doesn't hold it back. There's no firing pin block. The only thing stopping the hammer is the safety notch. But that notch is part of the same system (sear/hammer engagement) that would have to fail for the hammer to fall in the first place. The thumb safety locks the sear in place, sure. And the grip safety blocks the trigger from pushing against the sear.
But in this scenario EVERYTHING relies on the sear, the sear pin, and the sear spring. If any of those fail there doesn't seem to be ANYTHING keeping the hammer from flying forward, contacting the firing pin, and letting off a round. If it was behind my hip I might suffer from powder

$500 shipped.
Discontinued NOVA CNC aluminum kit, the rest is stock TM. Everything works perfectly, can get 25-35 shots on a mag, which is impressive for a propane single-stack 1911.
Pachmayr rosewood grips were added myself. The kit itself is quite rare, and durable. Good recoil, and gorgeous sound.
$500 shipped.
Only trades would be for a Prime or NOVA ZEV G17L. Willing to add cash if the deal is right. No other trades please.
Edit: sold!
Hi All,
I have an interesting one for you today! This is a Sailor 1911L "Asian Way," from the cocktail series, BUT I have swapped the original bi-tone nib for 21k ruthenium version (medium). The pen body is like-new (A2 condition), and the nib has only been used a handful of times, but I am rating the pen D for the nib swap. Asking $230 + shipping (CONUS only at this time). The pen comes with a converter and original box.
