My favorite senile general authority of my childhood, was Ezra Taft Benson. The guy didnβt know up from down, yet there he was, on the stand, leading the church. In the end, they had him hidden away, waiting to die.
How many general authorities do you think are actually senile?
What is clear through scripture is there was a much larger group of "hangers on" surrounding Jesus during his ministry. What separated that group from "the twelve" and the selection of Matthias from amongst them after Judas died?
Yes of course we all know about the 12 tribes of Israel but we also know that the 12 did not in fact represent all the tribes.
Theres some interesting phrasing going on in the 1 corinthians 15 creed, ignoring the possibility of interpolations for now, why does Paul deliniate in strange ways?
He seperates Cephas from the 12, the 12 from 'all the apostles' and James is included seperately too.
I am interested in why Peter would be shown as distinct from the 12, perhaps its as simple as Paul wanting to emphasise a specific appearance to Peter alone, or maybe theres something more complex going on. It also seems odd to talk of James distinct from the reference to all the apostles.
My understanding is that Paul uses apostles in a more broad sense, which would explain the distinction between the 12 and the apostles to a degree. Theres also the issue of who the 12 involved, seeing as later traditions depict the death of Judas.
So my question has a few elements:
- What does Paul consider the 12 to consist of?
- What does apostle mean to Paul?
- Why is Peter distinct from the 12, and James distinct from all the apostles?

We all know about Ina's 12 Apostles, and after I saw this animation of Ina fighting the rest of HololiveEN, I had the thought of how cool it would be if Ina was capable of summoning her 12 Apostles in the fight and wanted to draw my interpretation of them. Unfortunately I'm swamped with work and class and wasn't able to finish my rough sketch this weekend. But I did however come up with a few names and wanted anyone's opinion on it. I'll post the rough sketch I made later since there's still a few things I want to clean up, but as of right now, I only have 8 of 12 drawn.
I don't know everything about Takodachi lore, so I decided just for fun to make my own. So I went with something like the 12 Apostles being the most powerful and have received blessing from Ao-Chan allowing them to take on new forms. Originally Takodachi, as all Takodahis they emerged from the void, but these twelve evolved into higher beings, known as the Tak'old'achi. Proof of their evolution appears to be an alteration of some sort of the Takodachi's usual halo.
1st Apostle

The first of the Takoldachi, its power is only outclassed by Ina herself and her master. As leader of the 12, it is without doubt the strongest. According to rumor, it's tentacles can reach anywhere known or unknown. A malnourished appearance and an anorexic like body, while the other 12 have an excuse, it doesn't wear a shirt, and because of its long hair and androgynous appearance it's hard to tell, whether it's a boy or a girl. While it's upperhalf is human, it's lower half is that of a giant squid/octopus, large enough to dwarf of the other 12. It's squishy orange hair, similar to Ina's, are horns that encompass the vertical halo above its head. It wields a large staff in the shape of a rather violent looking crowbar. Unbeknownst to most, it has been with Ina since it first emerged from the void, and it is actually the Takodachi used at the beginning of her streams in it's youth, apparently Ina used the footage because it was adorable.

Description: The user (maybe the leader, kinda like Jesus) must choose 12 people that supports the user and willing to give/share their aura to the user and/or the group. The conditions are the following:
- The 12 People have to be the most loyal of the user's followers (or somebody that really loves the user).
- The user and the 12 people must share every piece of information of themselves to each other. Every thought. Every darkest desire. Everything.
- They must agree/accept to share their aura with each other.
This will then activate the ability. After activated, the user and the twelve people share their aura/nen and they can read each others minds (or share their thoughts).
If the user (or one of their loyal followers) dies, they can either sacrifice another apostle to bring the other person back to life or they must be replaced. Both choices will have to occur within 24 hours after the death. When anybody from the group dies, the aura is given to the group.
