He has called an extremely fair game and very accurate strike zone in the Twins/Yanks game.
With MLB making the right decision to go off of a skill/seniority pick with the umps, it further justifies that there are WAY more qualified umps for high profile games than names like Angel Hernandez and Joe West.

Kevin was there for Randall on many occasions in the past (Helping him get Beth, getting him out of class when he was nervous, helping with his time capsule, being his best man and talking to him before the wedding ect.)

Given the new rules about not submitting links from The Athletic here's a summary based on my interpretation:
He basically says he won't believe Yankees are out on Machado until he's wearing another team's uniform during the introductory press conference. He then adds why the Yankees would opt to avoid the $300 million price tag (this includes paying Aaron Judge down the road; hints it could be sooner rather than his actual FA year of 2023) and questions why management would sell the fanbase getting under the luxury tax for this winter, for THESE free agents, only to sign none of the superstar names they were allegedly freeing up space for. And after the signing of DJ, the Yankees will be $7 million over the luxury tax threshold.
He continues to say that while it's probable the Yankees have turned their sights elsewhere, but mentioned the infamous Bubba Crosby comment by Cashman before signing Johnny Damon and other surprises such as Stanton last year and Tex in 2009.
He mentions the glut of infielders and says other execs believe Andujar could be traded and says due to league minimum salary, Yanks could waive Tulo after Spring Training if he isn't healthy or disappoints and if they sign Machado, they could help Tulo find a spot that will take him based on who he would like to play for. Though, some industry folk speculate they started moving on from the idea of Manny when they agreed to a deal with Tulo.
Despite all of this, he mentions how the Yankees won 100 games last year despite all the personnel/injury issues, ratings on YES were at their highest since 2012 and are better equipped to contend for several years given all the homegrown talent, than the Red Sox.
Essentially, he thinks it's very possible the Yankees have moved on but he's personally not willing to say as much until Machado is wearing the Phillie pinstripes or the White Sox black and white. Insert "So there's a chance" gif here
In my opinion, if he pulls it off the he is above Mayweather in the P4P debate, he would definitely be on my top 10 of all time but not in my top 5.
